    Default Pac/Rios Faceoff

Okay, I just can not see how Rios wins this without the puncher's chance shot landing. Rios has the power and grit to do so but he just isn't skillful or crafty enough to heighten that chance. He needs you to come to him too much because his ring cutting skills are downright hard to watch. I don't even see him winning more than a round or two. I think Pac feels him out and boxes him for a bit and when he gets comfortable and properly assesses Brandon's power he'll then go in and start unleashing more to eventually try for the stoppage. Does anybody here seriously think Rios will win this? If anybody thinks Rios wins please explain or give some kind of analysis of what you're seeing or opining.

Lets see how Pac comes back from that huge KO.

That would have humiliated any fighter and would def play on your mind.
Will he be the same or will he be extra cautious from now on.

Right there is the consensus on how Rios wins this.

This is a tough one. On paper Rios does not match up all that well. If he had anything above adequate speed he might have a shot but unless Manny is gun shy or tries to hard to prove he's back and gets careless this should almost look like a sparring session. Lesser men have beaten better though.

On the flip side, not to many people come back from being knocked out cold like that at a similar point in their careers. I'm sure Rios watched that perfectly timed Marquez straight right and may have some delusions about landing it but it took the second best counter punchers in the world four attempts to land that perfect shot. And Rios could not counter himself out of a shower.

In closing, I hope Manny decapitates the thug.

I think this is going to be a complete domination. I don't even see Rios as having the puncher's chance, because I don't think he has the speed or counter punching abilities to really catch Pac with a punch he doesn't see coming like JMM did.

Pac will move, jump in and out and just eat him alive with his hand speed.

The only invariable that makes it interesting is how Pacquaio is going to come back from being KTFO. But that being said, he was KTFO earlier in his career and he came back from it ok, so I really can't even imagine Rios winning this fight.

Agreed. I think Rios is going to be wild and reckless. Pac is going to look like he's having fun. I don't think Pac is going to be affected by the knockout. When he was a kid he helped feed his family by selling doughnuts on the street. He has great respect for boxing and is as tough as nails.. I'm looking forward to this and I hope I find a good link for it.

It's perfect matchmaking on the part of Pac's handlers. Rios is a legit top 10 guy who is tailor-made stylistically to make him look good after taking a dirt nap vs JMM.

    I had a paper round.

    Nice irrelevant, pointless fact.

This should be Manny v Margarito 2 which was a great fight and I remember Rios was the clown in the camp. Who would figure he would get a shot against Manny. Pacquiau has gone down a notch and Rios has gone up slightly.

I absolutely agree with this completely. I know everyone has a puncher's chance but I don't even see that being a factor because Rios is much slower, his feet are bad, and his counter skills are basically waiting his turn. Even if Pac's chin is lessened does Rios actually even get to that point? I just can't see this as anything other than Pac having a field day. I like Rios but he'll get picked apart, beaten up and then probably stopped.

Rios will be in shape and give a terrific effort. As for Manny getting stopped it was 80% his fault!!!
He stood in front of Juan and then double feinted and did nothing but fall inside, you NEVER feint twice and do nothing!!!
The right hand from Juan was almost late...............both their right shoulders were almost touching so there was a degree of luck that the punch landed. Up til that point Juan was starting to get broken down and walked back to his corner the round prior on unsteady legs.

If Manny is past his best Rios will help him know it. If he IS past them Mayweather will come out of the audiance with a contract in hand hahahaha..............................Ray.

    Two things

1)people often talk about a fighter getting gun shy after suffering a vicious KO, I don't worry about that at all with Pacman. All he knows is attack. But what people don't bring up often is that freeze moment. When you see a punch and tense up before you maneuver. That split second of tension before reaction can make a world of difference. This moment is my concern for Manny.

2)Mannys chest looks very shallow in this interview. I wonder if he will show up popcorn cut. Ripped, but not sturdy.

If Manny is half the fighter he was he should destroy Rios, Rios just isn't that good and he's tailor made for Manny.

I was wondering how long it would take to hear that lucky punch marquez landed again

I am sure arum done his homework and choosing rios as the opponent will make manny look great again.

Look at the money arum can make in his stable with this constant mix matching.

Did anyone notice how punch drunk rios is and how these constant wars are destroying him slowly..rios is killing himself in these wars with no real technique

I mentioned earlier how shallow Mannys chest appeared, well I just read at ESPN he's eating 5 meals a day attempting to keep weight on but he's still down to 142. Could just be promotion bs but it's something to keep an eye on.
