stevens did what he could, he also landed a few mean punches. so to say he was only trying to survive is a misnomer
Yeah on reflection maybe that was abit harsh. Stevens did show determination but after all his talk and pictures of coffins etc he gave the impression he was the type of fighter that would go out swinging instead of quitting between rounds. He never really opened up and gave it his all when he realised running wasnt working

Sir, are we watching the same fight? Perez was warned twice before and I think the ref missed one or two because of positioning.
The referee can call himself tough on low blows now but the timing was bad--a point deduction didn't matter one bit.

Abit harsh! Fuck! You do realize all the pre fight BS is not real, right?
You are spending too much time typing on your computer instead of watching the fight. Stevens was beat, he did not quit, his corner stopped the fight--probably because his mother was screaming at them to stop the fight.
Everybody is a fucking tough guy, as long as they aren't the one going through the meat grinder.
Stevens was getting hurt, BAD, to the head and body. I'm thinking he stays in bed a day or two. Everyone is different but he will probably be pissing red too.
GAME, you have zero empathy. Do you ever think what if that was me, my son, my brother, my friend or even a real person?

Lol you're crying cuz your boy got owned. If you're gonna quit then don't go showing pictures of coffins with your opponents name on if you can't back it up. It's bad taste and he got what he deserved. David Haye took flak for saying he was going to behead wvlad but choosing to survive instead so it's only right that Stevens gets the same . If he hadn't made out he was going to kill Golovkin he wouldn't have to answer for it

He never quit. His corner stopped the fight. I think the ref was about to stop it anyway and that's why he went to the corner. Those temple/ear shots are better then landing square on the chin.

Man, Golovkin seriously wanted to hurt him and beat him up!! Honestly he didn't fight the 'smartest' fight and neglected what is a great jab...but he had that option and wasn't fearful of Stevens HUGE POWER (hbo was getting carried away). Stevens talked his way right into that beating but he took it.

Wrong again, dim witted tough guy, I'm a Golovkin fan.
I do have a complaint about Grennady though, I wish he would speak through his interpreter because he comes off as a dunce, just like you.

I had to watch on a str3am last night because the genius cable system here has HBO east instead of west. Morons. I am now enjoying the repeat on my tv.

    Beenko'd,

This is a mans sport. If Stevens talked himself into a fight he needs to take his beating like a man. Doesnt need fairys like you defending his honour on a boxing forum. Go away and come back when youve grown some balls

pregame hype sells tickets, u know that. Also, how many boxers have gone into a fight saying im gonna lose? A pro has to be confident in his skills. I guess stevens shouldnt have said anything pre fight. And when did he quit? He got hit with some brutal punches and never once said no mas. Stevens got destroyed and kept trying until HIS CORNER threw in the towel. NEver once did he quit.

I bet you wouldnt have even gotten up if you got hit like he did on that kd

Good performance by GGG. Stevens was game and had a real go early but was simply outclassed in the end. It was not night and day, but the better equipped man won quite comfortably in the end. Perez and the big Russian put on a great display too.

Trading insults with you on a Sunday morning is not my idea of having a good time.
I'm going to try one more time to get through to your--my way or on way brain.
The pre fight trash talk is just that, trash talk meant to be thrown out to the media and then forgotten. Trash talk is promoted by trainers, managers, other fighters, promoters, boxing orgs, the media in general, HBO and SHOWTIME in particular and the internet. It's not real. Once in a while you get two guys who really don't like each other but it's stills trash talk.
The coffin idea probably didn't even come from Stevens himself. I know one thing for certain, Gennady treats them all the same, he tries to get them out of there ASAP.
Stevens got his ass kicked but he did not quit. Everyone knows when they've had enough so even if he did quit, which he didn't, I would never say he should have fought on.

I'd had a little bit to drink. The fact I was managing to type was impressive, never mind follow a fight closely.
