I think you are just focusing on stereotypes and expressing your personal political bias by attacking the occupy people, Lyle. It was a range of people protesting and protest they should. You admitted that America is screwed yourself in the Obama thread. You know that the country has been sold out and gutted and yet here you are saying that there simply was no argument. There was an obvious and elementary argument and that was that the creation of vast inequalities of wealth far greater than what generations before have experienced is only leading to massive societal harm.

Now I agree that people shouldn't be taking out massive debt just to have a 4 year university party and that people do need to take responsibility for their own mistakes, but at the same time, I do not think these students are in any way responsible for the fucked up societies that they have inherited. People are getting away with bank robberies, war crimes, mass surveillance. Get upset with the system, and only partially blame a bunch of naive students. They didn't ask to be born or told 'go to university or else you won't get a job' etc. The problem is that they are born into a world that has very little for them. Rich Daddy's can provide a job for their son, a nobleman has his connections, but most don't really have any room for social mobility.

One shouldn't take risks and potentially create human beings as society has failed them and parents without much can do no more than instill a few manners. In Victorian society you would become a rent boy for the aristocracy. Now you become a bar tender to the bankers. Society has receded and soon little kids will be back up the chimneys with soot covered faces. Then the phoney media will condemn blackface, but ignore the more important issue of why people are sending their children up chimney's.

sense of entitlement pisses me off. nobody is entitled to shit. @El Kabong however, if we're gonna mock the hippy scum beggars, then we should mock the trillion dollar thieves at AIG or Goldman Sachs. We cant have double standards.

When we give a slice of our taxes to the unemployed all the money is circulated back into society and generates local business, they are not feathering any nests or taking any nice holidays.

The bankers on the other hand have taken their % in management fees, hidden the cash fail and their trail. They get the holidays the cars the houses in different states, their kids get the best education and the guarantee of being placed in a high end firm.

Andre plain and simple the people of the OWS movement are lazy and entitled 100% of them. Capitalism as a system works if it didn't then America wouldn't be a super power now would it?

miles, although I've taken this quote deliberately out of context it's very correct "I do not think these students are in any way responsible"....these kids have been handed a chance to be better than their parents just like any other generation. It's not an easy thing, but they must learn everyone does NOT get a trophy in the real world. There is accountability and people demanding of results out in the real world. The problem with this group of protesters is that they have been coddled, they have become used to the kiddie pool of life and are terrified of actual LIFE. They need to spread their wings, take chances, strive to be better than they were yesterday but they are so frightened of failure they put up obstacles "The game is rigged", "The system doesn't work", etc etc....they don't understand that capitalism is NOT a 0 sum game, else Pepsi couldn't last with Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Apple wouldn't last together, and so on. These kids are either scared to death or lazy and stupid. They rail against "the corporations" but they actively participate in the success of those corporations. They buy iPhones, they buy iPads, they buy Nikes, my point is they complain and inconvenience others but to what end? They are enjoying all the benefits of "the system" they hate and they and more surprisingly YOU don't see the irony there. You're smart enough to see that right? It would be like you hating the hell out of McDonald's and then going there and eating their food....you can't do BOTH or else you're a hypocrite and 100% of the OWS idiots are hypocrites.

Brockton, sure I'm against corporate welfare as well because it rigs the game. It allows politicians to pick winners and losers instead of the market/consumer picking the winners and losers. But again these kids actively participate in Capitalism, buying what they want, and then complaining about "the system" a system which PROVIDES iPhones and iPads and cool t-shirts and trendy jackets and Guy Fawkes masks....if they were truly against "the system" they'd drop out of it.....but that's too hard of a life for those little bastards and so they keep status quo while inconveniencing everyone around them. They made 0 change......none, zip, zilch, nada. And I hope they feel that failure deep in their souls every single second of the day.

This is what bugs me though. If these people are pampered etc, then surely the logical answer is not to breed them. If these people are not born then ultimately the world would be a better place without them.

People say I am extreme, I simply advocate enjoying a nice marriage and having no kids as they have no hope. If everyone did that, then the world would seemingly be in a better place. However, I actually advocate the argument as complete revolution. Nobody should have children as a political revolution.

If you have kids then you are going to create misery. If you do that, then you are selfish and fucked up. In my own way I am a visionary.

This is something I have been thinking about for a while actually. If you could only encourage an entire generation of people not to breed society would be on its hands and knees. They think they can import labour when they want, they think they can decieve the native populace, well deny them anything more. Don't have children. It's a serious revolutionary model. If everyone followed that for a generation then a country would be on its last legs in a decade or two.

Children are going to inherit really shitty lives, it is selfish to do that. Just resist and say, I am giving nothing back to this joke of a system. That is rebellion. Instead they rely on idiots breeding. That is the problem.

miles, it's not about children it's about their views which are equal parts lazy and asinine. If they had their way nobody would do any work because any benefit of work would be confiscated and redistributed among the commune. So why even try? Why strive to succeed? Why push yourself for greatness if the reward is taken from you and given to the lazy, weak minded, and weak willed? THAT is the problem. On a behavioral psychology level communism and socialism are utter crap.

I hate both the idiot spoiled whiners AND the insider-trading abusive-/shady-investing white shoe boys. I call them white shoe boys because if they commit the crime they DONT DO ANY TIME. YEAH THEY PAY A FEW MILLION IN FINES, but if you or I did that shit, hell, if we even have a drink or 2 too many, they handcuff us and off to jail we go. No slap on the wrist for us plebeians, no.

Yeah it was a complete waste. I got to see it first hand here in Newfoundland. I did a short documentary on them for film school. They really didn't know what they were doing.

I think it's a big problem with the young generations. We are a bunch of lazy idealists as a whole. We have simple, nice sounding solutions for very complex problems with millions of moving parts.

And it's lazy too. Nobody wants to put the real work into actually learning the system and finding the best, most effective ways to make changes.

No, it's more fun to shout slogans into a bullhorn, hold a sign, and smoke pot.

The best example is the Guy Fawkes mask: people use this to protest against big corporations and the wealthy... but they don't even know that Time Warner owns the rights to the masks and is paid with each sale!

Yeah I'm in the same boat. These white shoe boys should be strung up like Mussolini for the damage they do to the economy and the common man.

What we need to do in some fashion is kill about 5 billion people because the existence of the species outweighs the existence of those 5 billion.

Lawyers, politicians and Ceo's go to the front of the line.

Guy Fawkes was also a PAPIST! He wanted to blow up Parliament and get England back in the good graces of the Catholic Church.....which makes the use of his mask at Occupy or anything 'Anonymous?' does the HIGHEST PEAK of buffoonery!

I went to high school with the guys running the OWS movement in my home town, and although they have a tremendous amount of book smarts, (one graduated from Harvard) they have 0 common sense and are idealistic as hell. In the real world, the world outside of academia, they are UNEMPLOYABLE to say the very least. If you asked them to make a copy, you know something simple like that, on any given day they could just say "Why don't YOU make that copy?" or "We shouldn't make that copy because it encourages deforestation" or something that audacious and that stupid. They are an impediment to work, they are lazy, they are selfish....shouldn't a guy who graduated from Harvard be out curing cancer or writing books or practicing law or doing ANYTHING of importance? But nah, he just sat around camping for a few weeks the lazy bastard.

There were a ton of the OWS protesters who were just worthless but there were some with potential and THOSE anger me most. You have all that potential and you want to let it rot on the vine simply because you don't like the system.....soooo selfish
