Castillo got away lightly in my opinion, the whole situation was a shambles and the quicker it is forgotten about, the better. I guess he can still fight Hatton next year at 140?
He's banned from fighting at 140, its 147 and up for Castillo.

No it says he cannot fight at less than 140 not 140 and less.

This is getting interesting already. Wouldnt this be a great fight? They both fight going forward, this fight would be bound for a KO on either fighter. Castillo-Hatton for March or April, nice!

    Team Hatton eyes Castillo bout!
Ricky Hatton and his promoter Dennis Hobson have welcomed the news that pound-for-pound fighter and potential rival Jose Luis Castillo has escaped a lengthy suspension from boxing. Hobson said, "Ricky will be fighting on December 9 but, allowing ourselves for a second to anticipate a favorable result there, weve already had good talks with Bob Arum about making a Hatton vs Castillo superfight for March or April. That's a fight Ricky is relishing......Me and Ricky were as gutted as anyone that [Castillo-Corrales III] got cancelled at the last minute. We were actually at the weigh in and just couldn't believe it. But I think Castillos paid the price by getting fined $250,000 and should be allowed to move on in his career." Hobson added that Hatton's December 9 opponent and the site of that bout will be confirmed shortly.

Am I right in thinking that the Nevada Commission only have jurisdiction in Nevada - can't he still fight anywhere else in the world?

Technically yes but I know with medical suspensions other states will follow suit, not sure about this type of suspension thou. It seems to me that once you get suspended in one state for something the other states tend to adhear to the suspension as well.
