I almost cannot believe what I am reading. UFC is popular really in America. Worldwide it isn't worth a drop of piss in the dessert.
So what your really saying is that America is the world..
A totally racist position!!
Boxing is a worldwide sport with many times the popularity of UFC of course! Pretty much shits over your argument don't you think??

Yeah let's dispell the kickboxing myth first. Any proper boxer of similar size and level as a "thai boxer" would easily dispatch the kickboxer. Look at them. Take Mike Tyson, compare him to the HW kickboxing champion of the world. Under no circumstances can I envision the kickboxing champion surviving more than a minute against Tyson!
Moving on the MMA, this is a different kettle of fish. In theory, sure the MMA dude should kick ass against the "limited" boxer. However things may not be as they seem.
Boxing is a far and away more professional sport. The boxers are experienced to a far higher level than any MMA guy is (can elaborate if need be).
Boxing is also the most important tool of any fighter. Bruce Lee said it himself, of all the things you can be good at, it is the person who can "PUNCH BETTER" that will usually ultimately win the fight.
Funny thing is, boxing as we know it, EVOLVED from basically what UFC is today!!
In the 1700's James Figg was champion of boxing which involved wrestling and booting as well. In fact this was normal right up until John L Sullivan! We decided long ago what was good and what was not.
UFC is a throw back! Sure it's here to stay, but I can't see it ever overtaking boxing. UFC attracts a weird crowd imo.
Boxing attracts a somewhat dumb crowd at times, like those who believe that fucking shithouse boxers by comparison from 50 years ago could "take" todays fighters, but it is appreciated by all of it's practitioners and fans as the fine sport that it is. They didn't coin it the sweet science for fucking nothing!.
In Australia there are several boxing gyms to every MMA gym. Me and many of my schoolmates growing up went on to be boxers. I can name only a few who have taken to MMA. That says a lot!!

So you guys that believe boxing is far superior to MMA believe that Floyd Mayweather (Boxing's no.1) would beat his MMA equivalent?
Have you not seen how easily guys like Toney, Mayorga, Botha etc got beat by MMA guys? For sure they are not prime boxers but i'm pretty sure, even though I know nothing about MMA, that they weren't facing prime MMA fighters either.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I just googled UFC champions. Heavyweight champion - Cain Velasquez, 6'1, 240lb. He is a brown belt in Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a NCAA Division I Wrestler. Has a boxing and Muay Thai trainer. 13 wins, 11 by KO with 1 loss.
So you guys would back Wlad to beat this man in an anything goes bout?
Poor Wlad certainly wouldn't want to be grabbing this man.

UFC and boxing are completely different. not just in attack but in defence also. There are things fighters do in both sports that would be illegal or stupid to do in the other. For example. Boxers put there heads down or turn there back to avoid getting hit. If they did that in UFC you would receive either a knee to the face or give up a rear naked chock.
In UFC if they were to box the boxer they would not be able to hold legs, block punches by holding, grabbing the back of the head while punching.
We have seen countless times people coming from other sports and trying boxing or MMA and falling short because there not disciplined enough in the areas needed.
Say it one more time Dia and you're deffo getting the spanish. Trust me. ()
Randy Couture, the guy that beat Toney, was 5 years older than him. It took him 25 seconds to floor Toney and 3 minutes to make him quit. Credit to Toney for lasting that long after being taken down.
Toney has never been stopped in 90 pro fights, I'm pretty sure he's only been down once too, but he barely lasted a round against a 50-year-old UFC fighter with 11 losses on his record.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
It's an interesting topic.
UFC has clearly not over taken boxing. Personally I think boxing is much better to watch. I don't really enjoy watching the wrestling or rolling around on the floor or people getting their head smashed in when lying unconcious.
However, when it comes to an actual contest between a top MMA fighter and boxer, it's a complete and utter mismatch. Like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
The days of a heavyweight boxing champion being able to "lick any man in the world" are long gone.![]()

"I don't work submissions....I'm not laying underneath a grown man with my legs spread on worldwide tv; Some guys subscribe to that theory, but I'm a Republican and we don't do that." - Chael Sonnen
.
I will answer to that Fenster. I am not specifically insisting on Wlad beating this guy but I think it would be highly probable. First at 6'1" Wlad would have such a range advantage and he would know to move away and not into the wrestler. Because of his rustiness at boxing I think Wlad would get the drop on him early with a straight right catching him on the way in.
Look at this guys record. This is the HW champion with a record of 13-1. Gee that's some super athlete right there!!
Look I think many boxers would lose to MMA guys and I think even with the same 2 guys there can be different results given rematches. I'm just saying that the nature of boxing is such that they always have high chances in any combat situation.
As for boxers in MMA, when have you ever seen a top level boxer go into MMA
Never. They only do it when they are burnt out and fat or never were good to start. And that's because there is more money in boxing
