Default Wlad is a bullshit champion!

.... fight real contenders, and don't hype up bums and re-hash old fighters.

Wlad's most rated opponent in a little while was Povetkin, which he hugged to death. But, Povetkin was by no means a major threat- the slow paced, European style boxer that he was. Plus, Povetkin was rushed into it. Wlad may as well had fought Price or Harrison!

You guys are letting the heavyweight champion of the world bullshit on by with meaningless fight after fight... for ten years this shit has been going on. How do you Wlad ass-kissers feel when you wake up in the morning? How do you sleep at night?

Pulev, Jennings, Arreola, Stiverne, Wilder, are all right there. That's who the people want to see you face. Not shit ass Leapai. GTFOOH!!!

Again, this is why I hate 99% of your threads.

You could have searched 'Wlad' and seen the 2,666,554,342 other thread as generic as this.

In other words... Wow you're like 5, 6 years behind everyone else and we know this.

    Ten years?

Peter, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Haye, Thompson, Byrd, Rahman, Povetkin, Brewster, Chambers

These were all top tier HW boxers, absolute nonsense to bash them!

Even guys like Austin, Brock, Wach, Pianeta etc were giant boxers with good or even undefeated records!

And Mormeck, probably the most mismatched to date apart from LEapai himself was still a 6 time world champion fighter!

I cannot think of any other HW boxer who had anywhere close to such a high quality record of opponents for a ten year run apart from Lennox Lewis!

Just the ramblings of a COMPLETE fool I am afraid!

And one further point, Jennings and Wilder were not around or not relevant until recently, and Arreola and Stiverne have been on paths to face Wlad, faltered against other boxers and have recently come back to contention.

The only thing I will give you is that he should have fought Pulev.

Wlad is keeping the titles together and in order to do that you have to fight your mandatories. If I was Wlad I would have another fight ready in a couple of months.

How was Povetkin rushed? He was the mandatory like 3 years before they fought but kept making excuses. How long would you have Wlad wait for him?

Some of the mandatories have been pretty poor but you've got to blame the challengers throughout the heavyweight scene for not making it as competetive.

It's been said many times before but it's not Wlad's fault that he's fighting in the worst HW era ever. He's been fighting and beating mandatories just like Roy Jones used to do. It is not as if he's cherrypicking low ranked oppositions..

As if Arreola and those other guys have a chance? All of them are dime a dozen who would get beat just the same..

If anything, we can criticize Wlad's boring style but it's unfair to knock on his resume..

He could have done better than Pianeta or Lepai obviously, but who knows by how much, for the most part Wlad has fought about whats out there. Just now there are a few guys who could emerge as a real threat, but like was said that's only just become the case. Jennings, Wilder, Fury, Arreola or Stiverne for example with another big win could carry some clout into a proper title fight. I've hated watching Wlad a lot of the time, but I can't think of anyone he has truly avoided, everyone else has been on about the same lower tier or completely unproven.

If a fighter is around long enough of course he'll catch hell for his opponents especially when he beats all of them fairly easily.

Leapai is a MANDATORY....Wlad doesn't want to fight him, but in order to keep the WBO belt he has to. Wlad would have been scheduled to fight Boytsov had he not lost to Leapai....is that better, worse, or par for the course?

There's only so many heavyweights to pick from, some are inconsistent, some are undeserving but do well in big fights, some are deserving but lose in key fights, some aren't ready, some have nothing to give the fans but just want a shot at the belts.

Exactly.. IF Boystov hadn't lost to Leapai, I bet you many fans would sell him as a genuine threat to Wlad..

I can't speak for all the fans but I clearly remember many Europeans hyping the shit out of Boystov to beat one of the Klits.. Well too bad he wasn't shit just as I figured..

Wlad has beaten the likes of Povetkin, Haye, Chagaev, Tony Thompson 2x, Wach, and those guys are better than the Arreolas and the Stivernes so I dont see where all this " ducking " is coming from..

lol @ Wlad ducking these ordinary fighters..

I agree some people seem to forget or just ignore that this is a mandatory defence, to be realistic there really isnt anyone around who is a great threat, even if he does beat the suggestions above no one is going to care and will just write off this victories as wlad fighting bums and I think guys like wilder and jennings dont want anything to do with wladimir just yet... All wladimir really has left is get all 4 major belts and to do that he needs to fight the mandatories.. Hopefully he does get through a few fights this year and clears out the current mandatory fellows and gets to the wbc belt...

How lepai got to be mandatory challenger is a bit suspect though but you cant blame wladimir for that.

Ok. First, I'm not bashing you Max but...

This cannot be a real post.

    I've bolded my favorite parts.

I particularly like the part where you.... er.... or the computer program that wrote those words.... actually inserted Pianeta's name in that sentence. Stellar stuff!! Then there's the claim further down. Spectacular! Not one HW with anywhere near close to the 10-year run of quality opponents that Wlad has had. Not one!! Wow. And here comes Leapai, right on cue.

What else is there to say?

Look there Tito, Leapai is a weak opponent mate, so was Pianeta, by comparison to Wlad.

Pianeta had a manufactured record and he was a bit soft. Nobody is claiming he was a great fighter. But he WAS a hefty guy and he WAS an unbeaten fighter, exactly in the words of the sentence I wrote. Likewise the other guys mentioned had good records and were big guys too, there's no lies!

As for Wlad's run of opponents, point to one other boxer besides Lennox Lewis or Vitali Klitschko who consistently won against such good opponents? Honestly there are none.

Holyfield fought comparable opponents but he lost to many of them. Riddick's opponents were nowhere near as good, Tyson and Holmes had long unbeaten streaks but their opponents were not at the same level either. Valuev also fought a lot of substellar opposition.

I think you make the same mistake as so many, just because Wladimir performed so well against his better opponents does not make them a bum. The fact that he performed so well against such good opponents makes him so special as a champion!
