Maidana managed to make Floyd uncomfortable and win sound rounds, but I really didn't see him accomplish much in terms of damage. He never showed he could hurt Floyd. He showed in the early rounds that he could be so aggressive that Mayweather would become too defensive and give away rounds. That was his shot, and he came close but it didn't happen. Mayweather figured it out and took over in the 2nd half so I really don't see what Mayorga could do differently and I think Mayweather would just pick up where he left off and it would be much more lopsided.

I think at this stage in Floyd career, where he is noticeably slower and there to potentially be hit, a guy like Khan has a much better chance with his speed. He can possibly move and shoe-shine to win rounds. And a guy like Porter or Thurman, guys who have TRUE WW KTFO power, could really batter Floyd.

Those fights appeal to me much more, but if people think Maidana can improve and beat Mayweather in a rematch, cool, let's see it again.
Freudian slip? Would have been a similar match up, though.

Imagine if Maidana had kept the horse-hair, punchers' gloves... which are NOT illegal. Floyd was just scared shitless of getting hit.

The words Mayweather & exciting fight don't often frequent the same conversation, nor do Floyd & close fight. Of course yes. This was worth the money, money made and money I paid. I don't buy Mayweather with the 'next time its a totally different fight'.

Naw I'm not interested in no stinkin rematch involving a club fighter.

Floyd won clearly and a rematch would be boring because floyd is going to adjust and stay out of harms way.

I wouldn't even watch it for free.

    Not at all.

Maidana would need to work the way he did in round one for 12 round, which is unlikely.

Maidana showed the world how to win a few rounds against Floyd, lets see if the next can learn from it and expand to actually beating Floyd.

Why have a rematch when like 90 percent of sane boxing fans and sites thought he won the fight clearly. Then again he only has a few fights Aurm owns pac so why not a rematch this time most likely will be on the favor of Mayweather remember the last rematch he had was pretty different.

A rematch with Maidana would leave only two more fights (supposedly) but I think it is worth it: he went toe to toe and had a hard time. Now let's see what happens when he chooses to box (gloves will be a bit less relevant there).

Floyd will move more and make it a more lopsided fight if it happens again.

I'm much more interested in seeing Floyd fight the winner of a Porter/Thurman showdown, because IMO those guys have a legit shot and knocking out Floyd, especially Porter who is very athletic and brutal on the inside.
That is what has happened with Floyd in the past but there is really no way of knowing that will hold true in his future. How many times did we expect fighters to come out with a fight plan and end up with something different?

I like Porter and have been following him. Would rather see Porter fight Canelo and think he is not fast enought for Floyd just as Canelo.

You are making me smile, you act like you are afraid Maidana might beat Floyd in a rematch.

If the rematch does or doesn't happen, that's OK because there are fights out there now with the odor of iffiness on them for Floyd.
There's Khan (who looked good against a manic Collazo), the ubiquitous Pacquiao, Shawn Porter (fearless and grinds up boxers), and Keith Thurman.
I don't think he will fight Porter or Thurman after the close call with Maidana.
There are other choices he can make but I'd like to see these three in any order he wants. Rematch Maidana, then Khan and end up with Pacquiao. Or fight Khan, then Pacquiao and end up with Maidana.
He has three fights left, right? Announce the order now and piss on everything else. Just rambling on and on, having some fun.

Afraid? I was pulling for Maidana to knock out Floyd.

People seem to have the idea that because I defend Floyd and don't go along with the mindless bashing of him, I have a hard on for the guy and he's my favorite fighter.

If I wanted Floyd to win, I'd want the Maidana rematch. Instead I'd rather see him fight a young murderer at WW like Porter.

Not really. There was some tension, and i suppose that made it intriguing for a while, but it wasn't a particularly clean fight to watch. Too much fouling. Add to the that, i don't think it was even a close fight. I'd say Cotto had more grounds for a rematch, but again, that wasn't particularly close either.

I'd rather see him fight Khan over Porter. Porter should fight Brook.
