Can froch ever beat Ward?

I hate froch style but I really like him as a person and as a hard fighter.

Ignore all the noise about Ward not filling seats etc and look into the mindset of carl froch.

I truly believe carl has ducked no one and was calling out JC many moons ago like groves was doing to froch.

Froch has a toughness about him in a steve collins type way (but better!)

He has had such a great career and deserves every ounch of respect but I know as a warrior he would want another shot at ward.

Is he now thinking its easier to finish his career with high paydays against kessler and chavez or possibly ggg before he retires OR does he really think he can do a number on the inactive number 2 in the world (froch gets better in any rematch!)

Froch has absolutely no chance of beating Ward. End of story.
That's why he wants to fight Chavez in Vegas, and if that falls through, it'll be Froch vs Kessler 3. I don't begrudge him that end to his career, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking he has a chance against Ward .

Yes of course he can. It is pretty unlikely but not impossible, people have off nights, the most unexpected knockouts happen. Has Ward even sorted out his promotion/management problems yet?

Ok. Nitpick if you like . Of Course we're stupid because as you point out "nothing is impossible" I'll tell you what's stupid, trying to justify a fight when someone has a "10% chance of landing a big shot". You know what we mean .

10% is being generous. i would say that its probably south of 5% that he will land a shot and KO ward.

i would be very surprised if froch beat ward.

I suppose you would have to give him a punchers chance, that shot he landed on Groves would have put anyone down. However that's also the problem as I don't see him being able to land a shot like that on Ward, he is too quick and too clever. I reckon it would just be a similar fight and similar outcome to their first match

If Ward were to dislocate a shoulder or sprain a knee than the fight would be stop in Froch favor. So yeah Froch has a chance

Ward is to much for Froch and boxers just give him trouble i would rather him fight Bika or rematch Kessler those fights would be interesting and most likely get more money. Calzaghe was like done when Froch called him out and was fighting no one at the time just to get his name out there.

I was waiting for him to call out Ward when asked. Froch then deflected to Hearn. Froch has earned the right to do that. He could be thinking purely business at this point in his career to ensure he's not signing gloves at a flea market in ten years.

Legacy wise he should unify starting with Bika. But being undisputed may not be his priority at this point. In addition that is probably where the road to undisputed ends because Arthur Abraham is not going to fight Froch even if you offered him Bavaria. Having 3 trinkets is cool though and it ties Joe.

He probably makes twice as much money fighting Chavez creeping into double digits. Trouble is, losing to him would almost erase all of his past accomplishments in the eyes of a great many pundits.
In addition Carl might have to agree to a 175 pound catch weight, fight in Texas and be prepared to face a guy getting close to 200 on fight night with a titanium chin.

Then there is Ward and the fight in Vegas you have longed for and the redemption a warrior like him surly seeks. It probably makes as much as Chavez and has meaning. Not only that Ward has been essentially composting since 2011. Probably no better timing for Carl to attempt it.

Maybe if Ward goes into the fight with two broken hands then Froch has a chance.

Ward has the Hopkins-like ability to take away the jab of fighters with very good jabs. Without the jab Froch is just a slow-footed fighter with rubbish technique albeit hard/tough/warrior blah blah. Froch didn't beat a pound for pound guy last weekend, Groves hasn't shown he can even last twelve rounds at world level yet. Ward is on another level to Froch, or at least the pre shoulder injury pre layoff Ward was.
