Mares is spent also. He's to small for 126 and he's gun shy and tentative.

To be fair he had been out of the ring for awhile and was returning from his first loss I'm glad he got in some rounds but I think he needs at least one more outing against another second tier opponent before tackling the elite

He showed some ring rust. But i do agree that 126 is not the best weight for him

Agreed problem is can he make 122 any more? If he can I think there are some exciting fights waiting for him there

34-4 (31 KOs).... and victories over some notables such as Ponce de Leon and Rafa Marquez. A bit short, at nine years.... but the KO losses have taken their toll. Depends how you define great career, I guess.

Me either. He was out for almost a year, after suffering his first loss, by KO, his managerial issues, still getting used to his trainer. I think he should have done better against Oquendo but he had been dealing with a lot leading up to this fight

Eh Juanma was hyped up a lot but i don't think he lived up to it. De Leon good fighter but has lost most of his big fights and some pretty clearly. Also as for as Marquez is concerned i believe his days were kinda at a closed. Him losing so badly to Saldio kinda kills it and then just getting his ass kicked after.
