Froch has been hurt plenty of times, against Kessler, Pascal, Taylor, Ward, Dirrell, just off the top of my head. Maybe not badly, but he feels shots, and relies on being able to stand up to them. I think Kovalev has a different kind of power than any of those guys. I'm not even saying Froch would get stopped, but I don't think that's a foolish prediction given that he's never fought at 175 either and is getting up there. Most guys aren't Hopkins, Froch has been in some wars and has always been a big super middle, there is no reason to think he can beat Kovalev.
It's an interesting list have fighters you have chosen to name those who hurt froch

He was never hurt in the way of wobbled against ward or pascal

Taylor put him over and dirrell and kes wobbled him, what about groves?
I remember him rocked a fair few times against Pascal. Not wobbled but buzzed. Hopkins had never looked buzzed.
Groves? Dropped him heavily, Froch legs gone, and hurt him several more times.

Hopkin was a beast in this fight! He really took some good punches! Good head moves as well! I think he did good for his condition and his age! Glad kovalev won though! He might have a good career infront of him now! Hope he he cheers and drink a bottle of putinka! He's worth it! So am i!

For Hopkins to go the full 12 was really remarkable, Archie Moore has nothing on Hopkins. Bhop was still sliding and rolling punches like a champ, but Kovalev fought a perfect fight.

Sorry, what was that about Kovalev being one-dimensional and just a puncher?

On rewatch that KD was a peach, perfect timing after taking steps back and running Hopkins into it. Mass respect to Hopkins in that 12th, he sponged a beating and showed nothing but brass balls.

Exactly, that's the point. Look at him prior to Kovalev. Rarely if ever hurt.
Look at Froch. Sometimes hurt. Been hurt badly. Been dropped by lesser punchers than Kovalev.

Therefore it is reasonable to suggest that Kovalev could stop Froch.

I'm not arguing with that, I think kovalev could stop froch

I'm not sure you're giving frochs punch resistance the credit it deserves tho, and remember froch has fought at a massively higher level than kovalev against the elite in his division

Froch has very good punch resistance.

It's just that Tam said that as Kovalev couldn't stop Hopkins that meant he couldn't stop Froch.
Was just pointing out the flawed logic there.

I was wrong about Kovalev stopping the old man but I never saw the one dimensional Kovalev that Hop talked about either. Respect to them both. That was a text book example of designing a creative game plan and then sticking to it religiously. Nice to see Hopkins and Kovalev showing respect to each other after the final bell. I would not have been surprised to see the ref jump in and stop it in the final round if that were any other fighter.
