You 'don't'.
It is sad, but true his accountants didnt do him right. There names have faded- kinda like the dude that whacked Nancy Kerrigan's leg. Today we only know of Tonya the kneewhacker Harding.
Same here. We see Joe as to blame, when he placed his best interest in demons who have turned ghosts. We don't know these assclowns who had a responsibility and fucked over an American champ.
What is even more saddening is the subjective response from Paxtom- Yes he fucked up alot of his money, but you negated to balance it with what he did right:
Louis voluntarily paid back to the government welfare payments his stepdad got during the Depression. This is about as relevant to the IRS as that statement about golf course line. At least now its is balanced.
He bought needed uniforms for a group of black army officers, but why would the Army or Government give a damn about that? About as much as Paxtom does. Louis at heart was a conservative & wanted private citizens to do for self, He resented President Roosevelt’s programs that he felt caused dependancy on government & not self.
Louis gave his entire $65,200 fee (about $700,000 in today’s money) to the Naval Relief Fund.
He gave $45,882 purse from the other fight (about $500,000 today) to the Army Relief Fund Paxtom mentioned. Enlisted as a private, earning only $21 a month.<<-This is a An American Patriot.
When the war ended, the taxes he owed kept growing,(bullcrap- to allow interest to build) so the IRS wouldn't let him deduct the two fight purses he had donated.
Wouldn’t let him deduct $3,000 worth of tickets that he had bought for soldiers to one of those fights. & the % compounded each year, into seven figures during the 1950s. Damn, they couldn't say- here is what he owes from a war that ended in the 1940's? Let the shit grow like pubic hair on a well shaved vagina.
Joe was there for his government, for the people and not only was his accountants anal fudgepakcers, but so, too was every F'in man of brass (officers) who saw this shit and did nothing about it.

Joe was more like Frederick Douglass to Ali who was more like Marcus Garvey.
Douglass wanted to love America -even though he knew they didn't love him & Garvey wanted to go where he was loved in return. Just like Ali.
He wasnt spineless, he was simply misguided on who had is back.

I for one can't dispute your vast amount of knowledge, sometimes I disagree with the presentation, but that too is subjective.
Milk company? I was looking to prove this a photo crop, but you dropped some knowledge.
Not sure of how well or bad it did, or why. But as you stated he also made some bad business decisions.
'The Joe Louis Milk Company'
In 1953, Joe Louis was initially offered a 'deal' by Jesse Earl Thorton of the 'Lakeview Dairy Products Company'.
Mr. Thorton offered to form a 'subsidiary' division from his primary company called > 'The Joe Louis Mild Company'.
On May 6, 1954 > Joe Louis was named 'President' of The Joe Louis Milk Company.
The target goal, was to promote 'milk' to the children of the Southside of Chicago.
Location > 10842 Michigan Avenue ~ Chicago, Illinois
Serving > Chicago, Illinois and Eastern Missouri.
Joe Louis Milk was the 'center piece' of Milk for the 'Jewel Food Stores'.
Joe would promote the company, by doing photo shoots on the Golf Corse with
himself 'The Brown Bomber' drinking a big glass of milk.
And other photo shoots of Joe drinking milk, surrounded by young kids as onlookers.

From what I've read; Joe was in George Foreman's position[edit-forman grill]. he was the face, but not at all involved in the process.
He didn't own the cows, or nothing like that. It (appears)Blacks supported it exclusively, but because much of the proceeds were involved in helping the civil rights movement, many grocery stores refused to stock it. He even had a few politicians put stock in it. That failed along with Joe Louis punch and hair care product.
What gets me is his relationship with his promoter Mike Jacobs- the dude who played a huge role in promotions after Tex Rickard- IMO the father of boxing promoter. He was the Don King of that era- he lived well and somehow his cash cow was sucked dry.
Mike wasn't obligated to help Joe do anything- but seeing how he got his BIG break off of Joe Louis he didn't do anything to help his cash cow in a time of need- totally moral obligation and obviously not business. Jacobs had the first paid radio sponsorship Sam Taub was his blow-by-blow reporter. Jacobs had the first commercial sponsorship of a television boxing match—the Featherweight title bout between Willie Pep and Chalky Wright.[
He told Louis' black management from Detroit; if there were to be a black champ- 1. he would have to promote him, not blacks 2. He would have to be low-key (build an anti Jack Johnson image & marketed as representing all Americans, not just African-Americans.)
If Jacobs was moral enuff to donate 10 per cent of the gate to groups helping Jewish refugees. where was his help for his cash cow when he needed it? Or maybe there is news and I haven't crossed it yet. The American Hebrew news praised Mike Jacobs for giving Joe Louis the opportunity to strike "a terrific blow to the theory of race supremacy." Even more interesting is that Joe's folk didn't have his gloves that he used to beat Germany- In 1994, the gloves that Louis used to defeat Max Schmeling was donated to the city of Detroit by the Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
I wonder if Joe had kept those gloves, he could have auctioned it off. Signed gloves by champs today go for A LOT. Wouldn't paid off his debt, but I see this much--: the hand that fed him, starved him too.
