    Ricardo Mayorga

    41 1/2 year old 'smoker'.

Mosley managed to lose to Mundine two years ago. I don't want to see this one either. Is this on the Mares-Santa Cruz undercard?

Yeah, and Shane QUIT against Mundine, something he never would have done when he had decent form. This fight will come down to who is in worse shape and wants it less, I don't see the point.

I know they're both past their best but this might be fun. Mayorga is always entertaining and the first fight was decent.
    who needs this fight?
They do. There has been a trend lately of older boxers who want to come out of retirement and fight. I used to say don't let them fight for their health, but if they pass a medical and fight each other I don't see what the problem is because there is a market for legends to fight each other.

    These guys did it.........

LOL!, First fight was a stinker up till the last minute of the last round- and they were in shape for that one.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!

First fight Mosley was getting mauled.

I could see from that had it been the mental super fit Mayorga that beat Forrest that Shane wouldnt have coped with Mayorgas power, strength and relentlessness. Mosely just gets hit too much, Mayorga was an animal at welter back then.

Was Shane losing the fight before the stoppage?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

The bout was VERY close, I think the judges had Shane by SD.

I thought this was a joke or was a thread bumped up from years ago. This is not going to be a pretty fight, it seems like it would figure to be more of an exhibition than anything else, but oh well. I hope Mayorga wins.

He was winning by split decision I think if the fight had finsihed to points but if you watch the fight Mayorga was litterally bullying him most of it. Hes quite a bit naturally bigger and most of the fight he was bullying Mosley.

To appreciate it you need to watch the whole fight as the highlights have had most of Mayorgas success edited out.

Yes! Mosely sure is cursing a lot lately in these interviews. He must not give a damn anymore about maintaining the classy wholesome image. I like it.

Mayorga is a complete and utter fuck up but with Mosely also being shot, he has a chance.

    Surreal this is even happening.

Ah, Mayorga fans, full of if if if excuses. But to be a Mayorga fan I suppose you would have to be because he was a fall guy and scumbag.

I’ll be surprised if Mayorga makes 154 though. Last time we saw him was years ago up at super middle weight vs Vargas. Last memory of Shane was when he quit vs Mundine which was out of character and signalled the end. Sounds like he’s abit bitter about something, with the no more mr nice guy talk and if he isn’t riled now he will be once the press conferences with Mayorga start who has been in some of the most memorable Ive seen.

Fight itself will be messy like the 1st was but in the end Shane managed to outslug the slugger and nailed him to the canvas. Theres no reason to believe why anything would be different this time round if they’ve each declined equally. If Mayorga eneters the ring with a massive weight advantage as I suspect he will then I could see him lasting the distance. Shanes already said he wants a brutal KO so I cant imagine him being on his toes trying to box this one when he knows already he can outfight Mayorga Another ending I can see is an injury stoppage as often happens when two guys this age come out of retirement. Shanes suffered with Ankle issues and Back problems in recent years
I seriously wonder if people on this site actually follow or watch boxing sometimes.

You seriously think that Mayorgas last fight was Vargas? He fougt Mosely after Vargas! He then fought Michael Walker, then Miguel Cotto and had 2 low level fights last year the last in December!

Fat Dan said that this is PPV and is going to cost $50. Is this true? It seems like it must be a joke because I'm not even sure I watch this fight if it a free.

Ross - I didn't say it was mayorgas last fight I said it was the last time we (not you) saw him, point being he was up at super middle so years later hell struggle to make 154
On the evidence of the photoshoot he looked a lot bigger than Shane & I'd be surprised if he makes weight

Ppv will ensure not a lot of people see this fight
