James DeGale in 'not a complete arsehole' shocker!

I went out to watch Cyprus v Wales in the football earlier this week, and to my surprise who joined the queue a few spots behind us was James DeGale and his missus. He was really polite in taking a few of the other guys in the queue, and when I asked him "surely there's another queue for world champions", he just made a joke and said "that's what my missus just asked me too! We're in with everyone else".

I know James DeGale may come across as being a little arrogant in the ring and in his interviews, but he didn't seem to mind the queue (which took about 75 minutes), and seemed pretty normal fair play to him. I know its easy to judge people based on their ring/interview persona, but DeGale actually impressed me a little with the way he was just cool with the attention, and not a prima donna in any way.

You should have really tested his resolve and say Groves is better looking than you and see how he responded.

In all fairness it would probably take far too much energy to dedicate yourself to being a complete arsehole all the time.

Fair point. Saw the Welsh team coming back through the airport on the way home, and the amount of people just running to see Gareth Bale was insane, even in a non football country like Cyprus.
