    Default Sturm v Chudinov

Did anyone see it today, sturm won by MD and is wba super world super middleweight champion..

Sounds like a bit of a dodgy decision though from the box rec page ;"According to CompuBox, Chudinov landed 297 of 1022 total punches, while Sturm landed 184 of 605, managing to outland Chudinov only in the 12th (24-22). In terms of power shots, CompuBox had Chudinov outlanding Sturm 226-143."

I watched the first few rounds and switched it off because it was pretty shit, I've got it recorded to watch later.

It looked pretty 50/50 from what I saw

I do not like Sturm ever since he avoids GGG as his mandatory. I was glad he lost the title but now he has won the title back it is back to the boring days.

I had Chud winning a close decision. At no point did either fighter try to step it up.

I thought Chudinov won by about 8-4/7-5.

I didn't see the "robbery" that many are claiming. The house fighter, with a big vocal crowd behind him, got the benefit in close rounds. Par for the course in boxing.

It's a shame Sturm got the belt back, he looks borderline finished. I can't see him risking a fight with anyone half-dangerous.

I had it 116-113 but that was being generous to Sturm who could very well have only won 2 rounds. Both look pretty poor fighters at this level and would suggest the WBA is the route most fighters will be looking to go with 2 poor world champs.

Robbery the way I see it. 117-111 Chudinov. Every time Sturm landed the crowd erupted with cheers.

Sturm back to his winning ways, Germany is a bloody nightmare to get a decision over Sturm very
poor judging , but it's the norm as I see it more bad decisions than you can wave a stick at.

For a geezer that's lost four times on PTS in Germany with a few draws (I had him beating Murray and Steilgz, albeit razor close fights) old Sturm sure does get some stick about the berty robberies.

Yep I always argue that. Apparently winning close fights is the same as getting a gift. I thought he beat Macklin in a close fight and thought he deserved the nod over Murray. Also thought he beat Geale which went against him. Germany is no harder to get a decision then going away to any other country.

These "robbery" cliches came about because back in the day you couldn't see the fight, you had to rely on the reporter. These days, being able to watch every fight, it's obvious the so-called "robberies" are nothing more than close fights going to the home fighter, regardless of whether you're in the UK, USA, Germany etc

    Sounds sensible.

That said, I didn't watch the fight and won't because it's boring. Lol

I generally find German fights boring too, can't explain why I do.
