Andrew Selby v Ardin Diale added to what isn't such a bad card after all, still no way a PPV line up.
Andrew Selby v Ardin Diale added to Quinlan v Eubank Jr. on ITV | World Boxing News
chris eubank jr i takes risks no one else does
When the GGG fight was being negotiated the only thing I saw Jr dropping was the phone as he ran out the door.IT was a controversial move on Chris Eubank Jr’s part to take a low key fight against little known Renold Quinlan and put it on ITV Box Office, a new pay-per-view platform.
But he told ITV what he believes sets him apart from other boxers. “I take risks because no one else does and that’s what people want to see. They want to see a guy who’s willing to put it all on the line. To stand in front of a man and drop his hands and look at him and say, ‘What are you going to do?’ That’s not orthodox. That’s not what you’re taught. When you go into a gym and you’re learning how to box it’s protect yourself at all times. Hands up,” he said. “For a fighter like me to do the things I do. To keep my hands low, to tell a man come on let’s go, let’s see what you’ve got, and let him throw a couple of punches and see if he can get me, people don’t do that.
“I enjoy that. I’ve always enjoyed a challenge. I want to see if this man is fast enough to hit me, I want to see if he can connect.”
“It’s a mental thing too,” he added. “That can break a guy.”
What a fool this bloke is, put me in the ring with a demented midget and I'd drop my hands and let him throw a couple of punches as well.
Is anyone on here actually paying for the fight?
I have not seen any itv advert for this on TV yet. Have I missed it?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I've got a theory about what's happening here. I reckon Team Eubank and ITV have struck a deal here where he's on a low purse with a big cut of the PPV takings. Eubank Sr. has gone on about what a PPV star his boy is, so ITV have said "Fine , if he is that big a draw, take the risk and have the thick end of the PPV wedge."
Therefore ITV's risk is minimal. So what they have then done is put together a pretty decent undercard which they are showing free to air on ITV4. The Eubank thing has garnered interest, but people won't pay for that , but watch the ITV4 part.
ITV wouldn't need to sell it that much because they don't give a fuck what happens about the PPV element. They'll ride on the back of the Eubank train and get the exposure and then get a decent audience for the undercard , gently introducing themselves back into the mix.
as for the lack of advertising, that's down to this Poxon Promotions and "Motion in Unity" , whoever they are. Eubank Sr. has probably got these guys on the cheap, and the old "pay peanuts, get monkeys" syndrome kicks in .
nothing else makes sense to me, and if this is the case , it's a ridiculously big gamble by Sr. which will definitely backfire.
I think it's your right too Primo. The card is excellent quality especially for a free to watch show!
David Price? On his own or against a bum? Boring but he's in a pretty good match up with a decent fighter who could beat him here.
I think the Eubanks main intention is getting their own platform. I don't think e future of it is going to be dependant on how successful the buys are for this show. It's a pretty low risk opponent although heavier. This is to get the platform up and running. Potentially this could be a bigger earner than sky could be. ITV can advertise to everyone whereas sky only advertise to sky customers. A lower price on the pay per view and a good name opponent or a similar level match ups on an undercard included next time and most boxing fans will pay when you think some of the shit they pay sky for!
As I said before (and I could be wrong) the benefit that Sky have is that they advertise one PPV across 50 channels, I don't think ITV ever advertise on Sky channels do they, so would they be advertising to a larger audience than Sky do?
I mean what percentage of the UK watch channels that Sky provide? I'm pretty sure that even a large portion of the freeview channels promote Sky don't they?
again I could be wrong as I don't watch all that much TV
have there even been any adverts for this thing yet ??
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
No not seen one, not seen anything at all on social media either.
You can't even book it until 20th Jan (tomorrow)
