Hatton: "I Have The Style To Beat Mayweather"
Hatton: "I Have The Style To Beat Mayweather"
PBF speed and defense will get him pass hatton.
Mayweather was tested by Castillo. He won. Argueably by most on this forum...not the first fight...but he surely starched him in the second.
Castillo has some fire power & some serious body shots also...I'd say he's been tested by someone like Hatton before.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
yeah what he said
Hatton and Castillo are similar fighters but there are some real differences, I think Castillo's a slicker guy, Hatton's more active and maybe faster, although Hatton's speed seems to be on the decline. I remember watching him as a younger prospect and thinking he had pretty quick hands and feet, both seem to have declined a bit.
His foot/hand speed have declined because he turns into sucha little porker when he's not fighting. With all this time off he's going to be the slowest he's been. Of course, the eat-whatever-you-want and drink-all-the-booze-you-want diet doesnt help. Though Gatti was past it when he fought pbf he had a bang'em up style and people were saying like he was gonna rough up floyd. And PBF whopped his azz big time! With hatton it's the same deal: "how if floyd gonna handle the pressure?" Floyd is gonna know how hatton moves inside and would counter his ass non stop before frusterating hatton, then floyd would swith on the aggression for a late tko. IMOOriginally Posted by OumaFan
Agreed, I think Hatton will have a rough time in America now that he can't hold and hit. If he doesn't come up with another game plan he's going to get destroyed by CastilloOriginally Posted by dasamm
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
No he doesn't. He's in the sport that he could beat Mayweather. But one punch can turn a fight around so of course he has a style that COULD beat Mayweather. But when he faces styles similar he struggles so he probably wouldn't beat Floyd.
Hatton most defiantly has the type of style needed to beat Floyd. Ricky needs to stay on him and rough him up something fierce, get Floyd out of his game plan.
RE: Castillo comparison . Castillo is not as aggressive as Hatton, Hatton is like a wild animal who keeps coming and literally glued to your chest. great body work, Ricky has all the things necessary to win !
If Ricky can fight smaller Welterweights like Floyd he can take those fights and win , he just need to stay away from the bigger Welterweights. its all about the right match-up
I agree with Ricky....he DOES have the style to beat Floyd.....he just doesn't have the talent.
I like Ricky and all but the Collazo fight showed he doesn't hit as hard as we once thought
I agree my Wacky pickled friend..... Castillo was on Mayweather like stink on Shiz for 3min a round for 24 rounds Mayweather did his thing Floyd at this point would slice and dice Ricky up...I think Ricky needs to worry about Castillo before he worries about Mayweather, I think Castillo is tough as nails and is not easily deterred everyone that says Ricky would man handle him has to look at it closer, Castillo shold be fighting at Welter We know about his troubles making weight his frame is to big for 135-140 Imo...Originally Posted by wacko3205
I will say about Ricky though I am not convinced about his rankings and the Hype but to me if the Castillo fight comes off and he holds his own than I think people will get off his ass..
What I absolutely admire about Ricky..He is an absolute respectful gentleman and is good for the sport

The Collazo fight showed so much about Hatton... unfortunately.
Hey, maybe it was because Collazo was southpaw, maybe Hitman will surprise us
in his next fights. My mind still remembers Hatton "dazed and confused" in the last round though.
ok..whats with the Mayweather double standard. People say he was tested by Castillo the first time and then want to bring it up as any sort of evidence. Mayweather fought with an injured rib. And before you say "excuses excuses" whatevr, you're the same people who want to see Barerra fight Pacquiao again and say Barerra had all those personal issues and etc and what not.. and then say that a rematch would be different![]()
I remember i used to be bang on the Hatton band wagon. I really thought he could crack Mayweather.
Now, since the Maussa/Collazo fights, im not too sure.
I suppose i'll agree with the generall opinion that he's hand speed isnt what it was, hence his punching isnt as effective.
However, i'll keep my hope up about his work rate and ring generalship...
Meaning, im sure he'll put on Mayweather like no other.
Castillo did a fair job on Mayweather in the early rounds of the 1st fight, but it was controlled aggression.
Im assuming that the more liberal approach will unsettle Mayweather.
As for actually beating Mayweather..... Hmm, i doubt it now.
I have that hope pinned on Margerito![]()
