Nope. Floyd Jr has been talking about Oscar since Floyd Sr started training him. There was a pretty large verbal issue between pop & son over that mess.

The actual fight talks I mean, I know he talked about it for a while but there were no real discussions as far as I know

But I would give Floyd credit for Judah, ODLH(although I still want to see how he looks against Mayorga but if he loses its a moot point anyway), and Hatton. I think a Margarito fight would be good but if he fought those guys pretty much back to back I wouldn't complain

The Oscar talks came about & actually started at the time that Oscar split with Arum.

Floyd stated that he would go after Oscar to get some revenge for his promoter & also settle a score for Roger that dealt with some beef between him & Floyd Sr. Oscar said that he would never fight Floyd jr due to Floyd sr. They all bantered back & forth at a presser some months later & Oscar stated that he would fight Floyd but only after he had come back one time & then he would end his career against Floyd.

Floyd was to fight Kostya & then Hatton came along. Floyd then is set to fight Judah for a wad of cash. Hatton then fights Maussa. Judah fights Baldomir & loses. Floyd still makes the fight for Judah & then Margarito comes along.

After that...Arum offered Floyd between 5 - 6 mill for the Margarito fight. The agreement to fight Judah & then Oscar is already in place & now Floyd is dodging Margarito...I just don't buy it.

Look Mick & Gyro...it's fine to be a fan of Margarito...really...but don't go trying to say that he's one of the most deserving or necessary to get a shot @ Mayweather & don't go saying that Floyd is dodging him because he's fighting other men for more money...that's just corny...really.

Margarito has not done anything worthy lately besides beating Cintron (a puncher that to this date was nothing more than a buncha hype) that makes him more of a shoe in for a shot at Floyd than even someone like Baldomir. I like Margarito...but he aint the second coming like you girls keep making him out to be.

Floyd has worked hard & has outclassed everyone to get to the spot where he is & he has beaten a lot better fighters than Margarito.

He's never lost at Welterweight for over 9 years. Taking on up and comers and undefeats.
Not to mention, has a belt, that you Wacko, consider a real belt, WBO.
And he goes and offers Mayweather figures up over the 6 million mark. How many BMW's can be bought with that? Also, there are some Mexican fans who really want to see this fight. I'm not Mexican, but Mexicans love it when an exciting fighter with a pulse gets in the ring with a world class talented fighter such as Mayweather. So, don't tell me or anybody, that this fight won't be watched by anybody. Mexicans are one of the most loyal fan bases of boxing these days. And I guarantee you they'll tune in, if they know that a Tijuanan KO Artist is in with Mayweather.

Fan or not, Margarito deserves a chance, more than any other at Welterweight.

Why the hell are people giving Mayweather a "this is business and it's not going to make money."

But the reason why fighting is the best sport on earth, is because honor is involved. It's one of the few sports where they "train to win" not "practice to play good." To be a champion is an honor. And in order to attain that honor, you must fight on all comers that deserve their opportunity.

I don't think Mayweather should be encouraged to think strictly like a business man. Because this is the best sport in the "business." Money is a great thing, but it also makes good men bad and great sports, such as boxing, the dirtiest of trades. Just once in awhile we see a PPV super-fight, a non-televised, Espn 2, or Telefutura fight that has both men fighting for more than just what they earned in their bank account. It's those type of fights and fighters that keep boxing alive.

I wouldn't say Margarito is a coward, but he's not deserving of a title shot against Floyd, unless he beats someone like Mayorga, Spinks or Mosely. I hope Floyd takes the Margarito fight after Zab to show that he WILL BEAT Margarito.

I'm not saying Mayorga was scared, it probably had more to do with the fact that Mayorga was a King fighter and Margarito was an Arum fighter and those two don't work together unless they think its big money, and even then rarely. But you definitely didn't see Mayorga calling Margarito out, it was the other way around.

You don't care when he had his losses? Its clear that some of his losses came from him being a pro when he shouldn't have been. Do you see him losing to 9 loss fighters now? If he was losing to 9 loss fighters now then a PBF fight wouldn't even be talked about

I think PBF would beat Margarito, I happen to think PBF would beat most guys, but at least it would be an intriguing fight. Were these intriguing fights: N'dou, Bruseles( ), and an old as hell Sharmba Mitchell who was lucky to get out of a fight with Chris Smith. PBF's last two decent fights were against Gatti and Corley, not quite as dangerous as a 147 pound Margarito. Did you complain about Bruseles, N'dou, and Sharmba getting a shot at PBF? Or even Corley? If you didn't, why are you complaining about Margarito getting a shot?

And Margarito is 6 in the boxrec rankings. Newsflash--boxrec rankings are a joke. You do know that they have Chris Byrd as the pound for pund 5 best fighter in the world right? And they Chris John at number 7 while Winky's at 10, does that seem right? Oscar De La Hoya as the 9th greatest middleweight of all time, I guess he got that by "beating" Felix Sturm
