Calzaghe"I've heard I'll be fighting the Dane Mikkel Kessler to unify the division in February in Europe, but I'm not interested in him - he doesn't mean anything to America"

I think it is the same thing

Calzaghe doesn't mean anything to America either.

It's always a new excuse for calzaghe

I know what would appeal to me more, Joe asking to fight them before he has unified is similar to what Kessler could do. It is unappealing to any fighter to fight Joe at this stage, and if he thinks "after Frank Warren declared his next bout, scheduled for February, won't be the career-defining fight he's looking for. Calzaghe's next action looks like being a unification fight against Dane Mikkel Kessler."

Then he has a long night ahead. Any unification bout is a career defining fight.
whilst i definately think your opinion is very well thought and i never really thought of something that way!!... i dont feel it is the case..
i think that could take a role with other fighters.. but not winky and jt..
winky and jt will fight anybody, because they believe they are the very best...
i mean jt has taken more big fights in his last 3 and his next fight then joe has in his career..
bernard hopkins twice and winky wright then having ' a easyer fight' with the still very talented and dangerous kassim ouma, props to the guy he has balls!
and winky wright has also fought and beat some of the very best of the era, and he'll pretty much fight anybody, hes fought alot of fights abroad and on short notice!! and i cant say ive ever seen him hurt by another fighter!
i really hope joe fights one of them... because its the step up that is expected of him..

    Huh!! Hoah!!
    Whats going on Joe?
We are not scared are we?

Come on Joe, 'Who is he to America'
I ask the same about you, 'Who are you to America'

As far as I'm concerned they are both on the dame boat, all Joe has is his fight against Bika which I can assure you most moderate boxing fans probably changed the channel to 'Entourage' or 'Flight of The Phoneix' as they were on at the same time...

Thus, rightly or wrongly, people associate Kessler with racism.
This might be the stupidest posts I read in awhile. (And that's saying something cuz I read a lot of Pride of Boston's posts). How you going to associate someone base another person's comments? So if I'm backing Erik Morales and I insult Pac with a racest comment on a regular basis, you going to think of Morales as a racist? See how stupid that sounds. Admit it. Your a Calzcrappy fan and you don't want to admit that Calzcrappy is scared of Kessler.

Clearly, you have not been keeping up with my posts. This is not the stupidest one I have made.

Unfortunately, it's true. Every time I hear 'Kessler', I think of Royal (with all the connotations that has) Doesn't make sense, and I take you point - but it still happens.

Yes, I am a Calzaghe fan, and I do think JOe is avoiding Kessler!!

Joe's mentality is known in America as the guy who beat Jeff Lacy who was an american attraction and his feeling that Kessler has not fought any american national attraction means more to Joe I don't think he is ducking Kessler anyway

Did anyone else pick up on this little gem from the Calzaghe interview?

JC: ". . . The reason why Oscar Del La Hoya was so big was because he was a relatively successful white guy. That's a fact."

    i mean, the last i checked . . . that wasn't a fact.
