    Default Need Help Loosing Weight

Hey my names Steve i do boxing Monday to Friday, I've been doing it now for 9 months, I'm about 170cm i think and i weight 70kg and I'm 16 in a few months and I'm pretty fat and looking to loose fat, and live in Melbourne, Australia. For some reason i cant loose weight. I watch what i eat and i do at least 30 minutes of exercise Monday to Friday and i exercise enough for me to go home and just go to sleep. Thats how tired i am.I'm having troubles with what i eat and when. And also are any fat burners good for my age, and after most boxing sessions i take a protein shake. If any one knows a good meal plan or anything to help me out please post.

    Thanks

are you running? the best way to lose weight is to run.

what do you mean your "having troubles with what you eat"? you dont have the willpower to say no to junk food or you just dont know whats right to eat?

if its willpower I cant help you... thats entirely up to you whether youre gonna suck it up or not.

as far as a good "meal plan"... try to eat 5-6 meals a day, but make them small meals. this is to rev up your metabolism. always have breakfast, and for breakfast have fruit and oatmeal... I think you guys call oatmeal "porridge". then have sandwiches made with whole-wheat bread and some more fruit 2 or 3 times during the day. remember, dont stuff yourself and if your still hungry, thats cool because youll be eating again in a short amount of time. for dinner Id recommend something like tuna or other seafood and a salad with an olive-oil based dressing. none of that ranch or ceasar, too fatty.

aside from that, just stop eating the junk. no pizza, chips, soda, etc. but I wont insult your intelligence here, we all know whats bad for us out there.

there's no secret, there's no magic pill, and Im living proof to that. a year ago I couldnt even run a half-mile and now I run 3 miles after I box every night. I lost what I believe in aussie-talk would be around 30 kilos over the past year and I did it through diet and exercise.

oh and just as a heads-up... if you're going to keep posting in here, try not to post everything in one big block of un-readable text... break it up into sentences... don't ramble on and on and try to spell correctly

some folks won't bother reading your posts if you dont do those things.

When you say that you aren't loosing any weight, are you judging this off the amount of fat you have on you or what the scales say?

If you grow muscle you will gain 'weight' so don't always go off what the scales say... how much can a square you stand on that displays 2 digits really tell you?

My man problem is i dont know what to eat. I would like to follow a good meal plan, but i cant really find anything thats designed for my age i guess plus mst of them are all to make money i think.

I also want to get a bit of a bigger chest and for it to be cut up do u think i should half my boxing sessions and replace them with gym??Or should i just stick to pushups and more pushups.

the goal in boxing is not to "get big", and not many boxers lift very much, at least not a lot do to my knowledge. as far as getting more definition, if you diet correctly and the fat keeps melting off, your body fat percentage will keep going down and youll get more and more cut. boxing is great for that

if you do want to lift stick to the olympic lifts like bench press, military press, power cleans, squats, and keep doing your pushups, situps, pullups, dips etc.

what Im driving at is you want to do lifts that use many muscle groups together... take for instance the power clean; great all over body workout, it forces your quads, hamstrings, core and shoulders to all work together, and that kind of strengthening of the core is what really helps a boxer.

dont do stuff like bicep curls... thats the kind of exercise that isolates muscles and you dont want that.

    Agreed.

Not that the goal of my training is good looks... but I'm living proof that you don't need weights... bulking suppliments or all the rest of it to get lean muscle... not that I'm saying I'm built likea brick shit house but just stick at the boxing training and the looks will eventually be a nice bonus to your conditioning!
