    Default Cotto vs Cintron who would win?

    Since Miguel Cotto is makin his debut at Welterweight soon against that herky jerky sucker who beat Joe Julio, I thought I'd bring this up. Wouldn't it be a good next step, assuming he gets by Quiles, to challenge Cintron for his IBF world title? I think it would be a damn exciting fight, and one that could happen soon. I like Cotto, he's beaten every man they've put in front of him, includin that punk ass bitch Malinaggi. But ya gotta give the power edge to Cintron, hes bigger and has a real punch. Besides that and a possible chin advantage, Cotto is better in every other way, skill, expierence, speed etc. I'd have to go with Cotto by KO or UD, but Cintron could knock him out. What do you all think?

    I actually think Quintana will beat him before he gets to Cintron.

    Quintana looked super composed on his way to schooling Julio. Granted Julio now seems to be overhyped having witnessed his gift win over a journeyman last weekend but I got a good feeling about Quintana.

    I think he looks like he could be a spoiler, a frustrating sort who could outbox and frustrate Cotto on a way to a suprise decision victory.

    I don't think he will ever hurt Cotto but he may well nullify him.

    My bad, not Quiles, Quintanna thats his name. I say screw that guy, he's all over the place, a Sam Soliman type, which isn't necessarily bad, I admire Soliman's guts, but I just don't like Quintanna. I think Cotto will outbox him and hurt him, theres a world of differnce between Julio and Cotto. Anyhoo, forget Quintanna for a second, how bout Cintron vs Cotto, who wins Bilbo?

    I give up, go on bout Quintanna vs Cotto then. Not like the name of the thread is Cotto vs Cintron or anything...
    And damnit if you Brits didn't pick Malinaggi to beat Cotto, which didn't even come close to happening like I said it wouldnt'.

    I am thinking Cotto beats Cintron. Cintron had some flat moments in his last fight even tho he won in the 5th . a little slow in general. I think Cotto would out work him !

    Cotto beats them both. These two guys are stepping stones. (speculating) Wishful thinking (crossing my fingers cus we really do not know what Cotto will look like in this new division) I think he will do better than hatton. If not, it's back down we go and Hatton will be waiting and that will be ok too because that means a nice payday for both Ricky and Miguel. So it might be a blessing in disguise.
    Arum already said he will not have any problem or a choice for that matter to put Margarito and Cotto in the ring against each other. It's inevitable. I see these guys fighting each other at least twice. Good business for Arum as he will reap most of the profits. Again this is only if Cotto can hang in the WW and he think he can.

    Cotto looked a little drawn and sickly at 140, so I think 147 will fit him better. Cotto had to struggle to make that 140 mark.. he should be stronger and more powerful at a more natural weight

    Not sure who would win to be honest, I mean Cotto has the skills but Cintron is huge for a welterweight and Cotto to my knowledge has yet to fight at 147 lbs.

    Cintron would definitely have a punchers chance and Cotto wouldnt be able maul him like Margarito did.

    I'd fancy Cotto to get by Cintron but it would sure as hell be a war.

    To be honest after the way Cotto got rocked by Torres I'd say say there is very little chance of him taking as dangerous a fight as Cintron any time soon.

    I see no reason why Cotto would duck Cintron in the future. Cotto has ducked no one, and has been brought up through against some very good competition. Bailey, Abdullaev, Pinto, Torres, Corley could all crack, and Cotto knocked every one of them out. The Corley fight was a premature stoppage though.

    I have a feeling that Cotto's power will translate very well at 147, can't say for sure of course.
    Cotto will kill Cintron, 7-8 round TKO.

    Cotto = -200 = 1/2
    Cintron = +150 = 3/2

    as for the side notes on this thread, Quintana is a hell of a boxer very smart, composed and patient.
    with his reach and more experience at welter, I give him the edge

    Quintana = -150 = 2/3
    Cotto = -110 = 10/11
    For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
