Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate

Yeah loved those back in the day. Earthquake too like Spic mentions, I remember the ending where Charlton Heston has to sacrifice himself to try save his ex wife. There was also Airport, Juggernaut, The Swarm, Meteor and some low budget ones due tv on a Sunday night. I have vivid memories of one called Vacation From Hell and another Hanging By A Thread where they're stuck in a cable car
They don't make em like that any more as the saying goes
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate

Out of curiosity I went back to check the cast list of those last two. Michael Brandon was the male lead in vacation from hell. Never knew

Just woke up to the deeply sad news of George Foreman's death. Obviously everyone gets old and eventually dies. But few things hit hard as "signs that you're getting older" as seeing famous people (whether celebrities, athletes, etc) pass away. Especially if you watched them in their prime. For some reason I just thought that George would be around for a while longer, and become a jolly old man. May he rest in peace.

Norm from Cheers has passed away. I loved that show and it brought a lot of good memories for me.

Apparently, I've officially become the neighborhood old(er) stray pet guy. There's a random squad that shows up off the yard now. We have military housing scattered around and get a lot of moving in and out. Unfortunately some shit owners treat pets like they are just furniture and leave them behind from what I can gather. They can go from housed pet to street walker in a week. Some adjust and don't go feral better than others. We've trapped a few and taken them in for the spay and neuter thing but housing and adequate adoption is another issue. Finally found a rescue thru local Spca who touches base at the clinic and comes out when possible. Fortunately many of the neighbors also keep an eye out for them too. We had a brutal snow back in January and shit turned into a "feline nomad commune"with grouping up and sheltering them as best as possible. There are 3 we named Ol' Dirty, Twitch and Colonel Mustard that actually came inside and chilled until mornings. Somehow I just never imagined myself being the guy standing in his front yard feeding and breaking up slap fights between 3-5 cats, a random possum named Fat Travis and the neighbor dogs
. Guess this is what happens when you never settle down get married and actually have kids ffs
.
Here's a shorter one...for the first time ever I actually went to a local cable provider brick n mortar store location and exchange a bad remote control. Nope I have yet to "cut the cord" totally and hearing "thanks for being a valued loyal customer of 35 tears..." just hits you sideways. Shit felt like a scene out of a Family Guy episode. I think in 2026 it's time to finally dump this void of an entertainment vessel.
