Unbeaten Newbridge man Gavin Rees is targeting Olympic silver medallist and rising professional star Amir Khan.
Rees, 26, took his record to 25-0 (13 KOs) with an easy, eight-round, 79-72 points win over Chill John at Newport Sports Centre on Saturday.
"I didn't use my jab enough in the fight," complained Rees, who is trained by Enzo Calzaghe.
But the Welshman is keen to move his often troubled career forward and he sees Khan as the ideal vehicle.
Weight problems cost Rees a world title shot in 2004, while injury and ill-discipline have also held him back.

"My record speaks for itself, I want a world title, I've missed many chances," said Rees.
"I need to keep improving and winning to keep myself in the frame when an opportunity comes along, but my confidence has never been a problem - I haven't lost for 11 years.
"I want to prove Enzo right for the faith he has shown in me.
