    In your Opinion?

    IMO
He would need to demolish Taylor, then beat Sturm convincingly then move up to smw and either with a suer fight with Joe Calzaghe or beat Kessler. What are you opinions on him? IMO he hasn't lost since well before the Vargas fight, and he has foughten as good if not better competition than any champion in the past 4-5 years than any champion that comes to my mind.

I don't think he'd have to move up to 168 to cement his legacy as an all time great. If he beat Taylor, all he would need to do is reign supreme at 160 for an extended period of time (10 or so defenses).

He's too old for that IMO... He is 34, and he style relies on reflexes to both block, and to counter with his jab or cross.. I say he's got 2-2 1/2 years before he starts getting in big trouble because of his style, and will either have to change or retire.

Disagree. This happened to Pernell Whitaker, but a significant factor was that his abuse of his body heavily contributed to his deteriorating skills (drug and alcohol abuse), whereas Winky trains year-round and leads a clean life.

Yes. Beat Taylor convincingly. Have a defense or three, against the top middies, and maybe even redeem his lost to Vargas for extra credit.

beat taylor/vargas and maybe Hop, move up and beat Calzaghe and I think he would go down as a great one....He needs the Taylor fight for sure, the vargas win would help, but anyone who watched that fight knows he got hosed. Hop would be a nice victory b/c of his own legacy and I think the Calzghe makes him an all time great b/c it shows his ability to beat a bigger opponent.

He beat Vargas we all know that... I don't think beating Vargas would really do anything for him now... Vargas is a shell of what he was and everyone acknowledges that... He is still a warrior, but if he can't beat a diminished Mosley I don't think people or me at least would even want to see Vargas vs. Wright who's jab would make his forehead swell to size of a basketball... I'm not sure how strong Wright would be at 168, but if Calzaghe couldn't hurt him with one blow I can't see Calzaghe beating him if Wright is strong enough... We'll see against Taylor because Jermaine IMO would be a strong supermiddleweight even.

Winky (IWO) already is one of the greats. He's fighting in an era where everyone is overly critical of him & he's still coming on strong & beating the best.

All he has to do really is beat Taylor. That'll cement his legacy...he's going to go down as one of the best defensive fighters of our time anyways.

That's how I feel as I stated above. I just added in the Vargas thing because he did atleast deserve a draw, and if he did fight Fernando againg, I feel he would go for the KO and get it this time, and that would just put an exclamation point on his already great career. He doesn't have to though for him to be great. I only mention that because redeeming losses seems to hold alot of weight with Lewis.

I guess it depends on high your standards are for someone being an ATG. He's clearly a great of our time allready. I guess beating Taylor, and then beating another one of the young contenders, such as a Sturm, Abraham, Miranda. I don't have any interest in seeing a Vargas rematch

Winky will be remembered as a great defensive fighter. Right there with Bernard in that respect. He lacks championships and defences IMO to be considered on of the ATG champion, but that can change. At this point he will be remembered as a defensive mastermind with the best southpaw jab arguable in boxing history. And thats a great thing to be remembered for ATG or not.

Its about who you fight these days and he beat Mosley pretty easily, Bronco Mckart, Angel Hernandez(good fighter not well known) then beat Felix Trinidad even easier than Hopkins, and he's foughten as good of competition as he could get. though if I was him I would have foughten Mayweather at 154 for a 20-80 purse just to get the fight... it would be HUGE for his career same as when Ruiz fought Jones had he won, but Wright is the only guy I think would beat mayweather under middleweight.
