Default Scotlands Top Welter in action.....

Hope Kevin Anderson is being noticed & drumming up the support he deserves.

I think he can be a genuine contender at world level in a couple of years.

Noticed that he's fighting Young Mutley soon. who dismissed his last performance at ringside. --UKs welter No.1 v No.3
(19/May/2006 Aston Events Centre, Birmingham, England)

I think he'll dominate Young Muttley & any other British Welter at the moment...Hatton aside.

Anyone else think he could be a decent champ

Completely agree, I though he looked very impressive in his last outing and I think Young Muttley is in big trouble when they meet. Definately one to watch out for.

I don't think Young Muttley has anything to worry about. Kevin is a brawler without, unfortunetely, heavy hands. Don't get me wrong I'd like to see Kevin do a number on Muttley but I can't see it happening. In his last outing against Craig Dickson he looked flat and one dimensional and didn't box off the back foot when under pressure. That said, he would raise his game against Muttley and has a fighting chance.

Anderson will beat a very one paced Mutley, but Anderson is no great shakes himself, saw his last fight against the other Scottish bloke and to be honest if the other bloke had anything about him could of outboxed Anderson from the outside all night, but he wanted to trade and was taken out by the more powerful man.

David Barnes would beat Anderson for me.

Anderson will be found out soon enough.

Get this. When David Barnes was a welterweight he had to practically bulk up to fight - he was fighting at his walking about weight. That's why he now campaigns at light welter. I saw him fight some Finnish no-hoper last year on the undercard of a Scott Harrison fight and he looked pretty ordinary.

Personally I'd like to see Kevin getting beat from Gary Young - a great prospect who's showing promise and has beaten some half decent ruskies.

Was he balls i have spoke to David Barnes loads of times and no him through a few manchester boxers, where the hell do you get he walks about at his fighting weight??

He is fighting at 140 now because he has moved camps and is more disiplined, are you stupid?? If he walked about at 147 before doing any training do you really think he would be fighting at 147??

He is just more focused and dedicated and with Arnie in his corner has been able to get down to 140. He has more skill than Anderson in one hand, his last performance on the Calzaghe card he looked good.

Right guys, lets put things straight here. Anderson is without a doubt the best welterweight in britain today. The different remark about " he's not fought anyone" "will get found out soon enough" "Barnes would beat him" are a total joke. Firstly he would give Barnes a total doing, remember Joshua Okine was Commonwealth champion when he gave Barnes a total slapping, the fight after that Anderson took the title from Okine!

Gary Young would get hammered against Anderson, Kevs fought far better quality guys than Young, fact! Plus Gary Young got hammered by Anderson 3 times when they were amatuers, he wouldn't get passed the mental block. Let's see Young take a step up in class and see how he handles it! Actually I hope Colin Mcneil gives him a belting when they eventually meet.
The remark about keving having no power had me in stitches, he's got a better K.O record, against better opponents, that any of the other guys mentioned. Take a break guys, have a KIT-KAT

Of Course! By the way, heard Young has been offered a fight with Anderson recently but his camp turned it down cause they have plans for Gary and are taking another route, aye well away from Anderson. :P

Kevin can brawl, but he can also be quite a disciplined boxer, he's a strong boy with a great finishing instinct. I reckon he'll stop Muttley & would also make light work of Mike Jennings.

Joshua Okine had too much for David Barnes. Kevin Anderson was too much for Okine. I like Barnes but he wouldn't last with Kevin.

I think you'll find out soon enough that hes a class above any british welter.

This is great we can actually have seperate threads about different Scottish boxers rather than a few years ago where there would be one solitary thread about how Scott Harrison was doing!
