I see this going the distance with ODLH getting the UD. I dont think ODLH has the power to KO Mayorga. Then again stranger things have happened. ODLH is getting older and has not been in the ring for awhile. But I think ODLH will win with the UD.

Then he loses much of his machimo, ego, and pride. Losing to THE GOLDEN BOY, who has had a silver spoon in his mouth since his first fight would be a huge blow to Mayorga's pride, it would be an absolute disgrace for him. And cement that all he is is a fall guy for the stars of the boxing world. Also it would end any chances of him ever becoming anything more than a flash in the pan as many haters have called him. This is his last shot at redemption.

What was different about the Tito fight? Oh that's right the part about this being his last chance... He'll probably retire after this one

The fight was at 160, a horrible weight for Mayorga. He was in there with the hardest hitter p4p in the last decade, and it still took a hell of a lot to stop him, even with his stupid ass stickin his chin out antics. Tito was not a golden boy, though, didn't have the handsome pretty boy, sissy, image like Oscar. Losing to him hurt Mayorga's pride, but losing to Oscar, especially by KO would shatter it. Yes, he would probably retire if he loses, or coax that Vargas into a beatdown then retire, either way losing would be very bad for Mayorga's career and macho image. Hell he retired after the Tito loss remember?

He should try for an entertaining fight, like Margarito, or Vargas.

He'd kill Vargas no doubt, and Margarito would be a really competitive fight. I could definately see him beatin Margarito, but it would be tough.

Margarito at 147,I'd go hands down with Tony!!! At 154,I'm not sure. Santos only survived with Margarito because he was nearly 14 pounds over and Margarito kept going to the body which was ineffective because he had all that jelly protecting him!
I'm sure I heard Vargas has ducked Mayorga on a couple of occasions!

If Margarito could somehow defeat Mayorga at 147, which I don't think he could, it would be the abosolute toughest fight of his life. An aggressive Mayorga at 147 packs a hell of a punch, and his chin is nearly impregnable at that weight.

It would possibly be fight of the year. Would you pay to see it?

Yes, but 2-3 years ago, it would have been SOO much better than it would be now. Hell I'm payin to see Mayorga vs Oscar at 154, I'll always pay to watch Mayorga.

I agree. I don't really like Mayorga, but he brings that Tyson-vibe to the fight. He isn't that good, but he can still turn a fight around quickly.

He is that good damnit, just not a good boxer. A good brawler and puncher though. And yes, he does have a Tyson quality to him, cept he won't quit. Nor does he really truly mean half the crazy shat he says. But he is similar to Tyson, that much is true.

What I mean by he isn't that good is, his technical skills are average. But, he knows the game, and he knows he's not the best boxer. Therefore, he still uses basic fundamentals, that, with heavy hands can win a fight. Example: He knew he couldn't outbox Forrest, but he didn't try to just brawl. He actually came in behind the jab to set up his power shots, and take away Forrest's height and reach advantage.

For entertainment value, Mayorga must rank pretty highly and I hope he pulls off a shock against Oscar so PBF won't fight him and will fight Margarito instead. He needs to get in the ring with number 2 WW in the world!

Damn straight. Ricardo Mayorga is one of the most exciting fighters in the world. His charisma and power have taken him from the ghettos of Nicaragua to hotels and casinos of Las Vegas. He is a star.
