    In response to the question:--

    1. if he runs like a biitch all night, pinching points & clinching, ducking and running - then i will despise him even more. NO CREDIT

    2. If he puts a beat-down on Oscar then he will earn full credit from me.

    3. If he loses IN STYLE, having stood up toe to toe with Oscar, then he will earn more respect from me than 1)

    Just wait and see.
I poured out a gallon of milk on the floor for you over here.

Bring a mop & a bucket. I've got a box of tissues here for you also...two actually.

I have no problems with a guy crying over spilt milk...but only if he cleans it up.

**If that's to cerebral for you Danny G...that's an analogy of Crying over Spilt Milk. It'll suit you when Floyd slaughters & humiliates Cotto.
Yes Wacky, you are way too cryptic for me I will have to call you the cerebral assassin from now on
Say what you mean and mean what you say but don't beat around the bush cus that ain't you.!
If you are referring to my comment about Castillo/Mayweather Jr., say so.

I agree... .... BUT, for different reasons, I'm gonna throw some names of sucessful super star athletes that are hated for being excellent in alot of these cases people pick these guys apart like buzzards on a carcass, and they aren't appreciated or werent appreciated until they got older or retired..

    1) Ali
2)Oscar Delahoya... It was only a few years ago
    3) Roy Jones jr
    4) Derek Jeter
    5) Michael Jordan
    6) Emmit Smith

    and many others

Point is until Floyd gets older or retires he will have his legion of haters and skeptics until they realize he is gone or almost gone... Look at that short list above and you know or can remember how disliked they were for whatever reason...

Depends on how Floyd wins....if he wins fair and square by outboxing (not running away) or by stoppage or (haha) KO I'll respect him.

If Floyd runs away the whole night he won't win me over....again he's talented as all hell but he's an arrogant little prick who thinks landing one shot and then running around wins fights and I hope ODH makes him fight!

....I think Floyd hasn't realized what he has which is why he hasn't stepped up until recently. Oscar is the first GREAT superstar fighter he has fought.

Floyd has ALWAYS had people around to fight but like RJJ he has let those names pass him by or not hung around for them....beating the Hatton's, Cotto's, and Margarito's...there is something to be said about that. Fighting De la Hoya, Mosley, Wright....there is something to be said about that as well.

Greatness isn't given out just by achieving a certain record but it's achieved in who you fight and how you win....and in some cases how you conduct yourself in defeat

DLH will never beat a great technical fighter above 140.

ps--Oscar has a 2 inch height advantage and a one inch reach advantage, hardly any significance in either advantage.

I agree with skyler on this all the way; way to break it down, man. And people are saying mayweather gets no credit for beating one of the greatest fighters of the last ten years? jesus. yall must just plain out have something against floyd personally. to move up to 154 and retire delahoya is a huge feat. oscar is not that old. he is still a very very dangerous opponent. stop hatin and give credit where credit is due. cc, skyler.

Some people have this down as an easy night for Floyd, I cant believe that.! I,m not a big fan of Floyd, fantastic ability but I find him a little dull and I have always suspected he'll look for the easiest route through his career and retire undefeated, but with questions still being asked about whether he avoided the really dangerous fights. BUT.. if this fight happens, and I'm still not convinced it will, then Floyd will get massive credit from me just for taking it. ODLH has been a great fighter and, discarding the bouts at middleweight, theres no evidence that he isn't still. I thought he looked fantastic against Mayorga last time out. He has the skills , hand speed and power to give Floyd nightmares, but most important 154lb is huge for Floyd.

Inactivity / age are the imponderables in this fight, no one knows how much they have eroded ODLH, including Floyd. I fear if Floyd wins, no matter how he wins, then he wont get the credit he deserves. For my part I have ODLH down as favourite even if the bookies dont, and I shall be having a little wager... here endeth the rant..

I say if you have the skills and the speed to make another fighter look silly, use it. At that amateur boxing event i attended last month, there was a fight that i find very relevant to floyd's situation.

There was this black boxer, whose long african name escapes me but if i heard it again somewhere i'd probably remember it, upagainst this white boxer at 160 maybe alittle lighter. The white boxer looked like a fish out of water because the black boxer's jab was eating him alive. Every time the white boxer tryed to mount any sort of offense the black boxer shifted from one side to another, leaned left and right, and made the guy look like a fool. His other punches didn't loop very much and were close to his body so he could easily bring them back in mid punch to block an oncoming shot. In my opinion he was the best technical fighter at the entire event and earned the victory by either 2nd or 3rd round stoppage because the white boxer's blood was getting flung all over the ring and the crowd. I actually found the fight very exciting because its rare to see a boxer with that kind of speed and skill.

After the fight me and my friend headed to his work place to get something to eat and ran into a couple of people that were at the fight. We all agreed that the kid in the main event, Sammy Vasquez, would no doubt be an awesome boxer when he goes pro. I bring up the black african boxer and how impressed i was with his ability and a white guy (probably racist) casually responds "Yeah he didn't impress me much. It looked like he was afraid to get hit."

At that point i ended the conversation because i learned something from that guy. Be it racism, lack of unskilled slugging that people find entertaining in ufc matches, or just plain inability to recognize and respect someone's ability, Some people won't give truly gifted fighters the respect they deserve regardless of what they do. People will easily follow a good fighter that a lot of people support but when someone potentially greater than anything they have ever seen or will ever see again comes around they tend to be in disbelief of them and write them off as a fluke or find any reasoning they can to discredit them and their ability.

Ok people look at Floyd as the best and honestly when he was coming up he beat good names but now all he does it chase belts fight easy opponents to make him look better than he is. Mayweather fights dirty and make it look legit using his elbow to make people not wanna get close then he'll pop you with something nice. On March 13,1993 Oscar de la Hoya fought Floyds uncle Jeff Mayweather and knocked him out in the 4th. My point is that was 13 years ago when Oscar was at his prime now he's older with less talent and alot of heart and he fell into mayweathers game. All that Oscar has done he would have been better off fighting tito to avenge his loss. Its so many young hard hitting fast athletic people like floyd but they will never get a chance. For god sakes Oscar beat Ricardo for the belt that he holds now Mayorga is a slugger not a boxer he was destined to loss that fight. Who has Floyd fought with the same speed and moves as him? Nobody, because he's chasing belts and instead of trying to wipe out each division. And at this time in boxing its a new breed raising right in front of us. In the welterweight we have Andre Berto he has what it takes,Mosleys def has what it take, Paul Williams will make it but they will never get a chance at mayweather because he's gonna retire at 29? Thats Pretty gay

I think it is all down to Floyds style and I dont think he will change it. Ever seen him in the gym training like an animal in order to destroy his opponent?

It's just not Floyds style, he likes to hit and not get hit which is fine as it's what boxing is in a way. Unfortunately for Floyd, fighters who fight with heart who want to break an opponent to show their superiority rather than just outbox them get way more respect from anyone who has a passion for the sport like I do.

Floyd picks his opponents well though. Gatti was perfect for a masterclass and the Floyd fans will always revert to that fight when anyone questions his killer instinct as a fighter. If Floyd wins in this way I will respect him.

If Floyd beats ODLH it will not be spectacular. Oscar can be very dangerous with that left and you can be sure Floyd has been running from it all night if he has his gloves raised come the end of the fight. If Floyd wins this way its just another Floyd victo.....ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz

Floyd's better than all three of them combined and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it.

ps--If you think Margarito, Hatton or Cotto are 'great' fighters I suggest you take up following another sport, as you clearly haven't got a clue about this one.

The winner of this fight may go down as the greatest fighter of this generation. Its not often you get a fight with 2 guys with belts literally growing out of their ears across so many weights! Can't wait!

I hate people who do that, if Floyd beats them it doesn't mean they are garbage, provided they have earned their own credentials. Example, Bernard Hopkins destroyed ODLH, he ain't garbage. Lacy is destroyed by Calzaghe, then goes on to suck (and lose) against Tsypko, GARBAGE!
