Default Got any excuses tonight Antonio Tarver????

There is a bit of irony here.....

    http://msn.foxsports.com/boxing/story/6307572

One fighter who is very delighted with the news of Bernard Hopkins returning to the ring is former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver.

Tarver wants nothing more than a rematch with the man who dominated him in June. Tarver was the heavy favorite to beat Hopkins, a career middleweight who was moving up two weight classes to make the fight.
Gaining over 40-pounds of mass to play the role of a heavyweight champion in the movie "Rocky Balboa," Tarver used his entire training camp to get himself back to the point of a fit 175-pound fighter. In the ring with Hopkins, he appeared to have nothing in the tank as Hopkins won most of the 12 rounds and even scored a knockdown.

Currently, Tarver is training with Buddy McGirt in Florida, preparing for a return to the ring. Tarver tells the Contra Costa Times that if Hopkins wants to continue in the sport of boxing, he will need to give him a rematch.

"I'm going to build my name back up and to the point where, you know, he's going to have to fight if he wants to continue to be in boxing," Tarver said of Hopkins. "This is going to be the mega fight for him. ... I mean especially coming off the cuff of 'Rocky Balboa.' "

Gaining over 40 pounds and then having to lose it to fight at 175.....hmmmm where have I heard that before?

It's amazing he could even use that excuse after the bullcrap he gave Roy about moving up to heavyweight.....the difference is that ROY actually had muscle and not "mass" if you see Tarver in the movie he's not cut he's in good shape but a little flabby...he's not James Toney's size but he's not like Roy was vs Ruiz.

Tarver just wasn't up for fighting and he knows it and I think he should move up to heavyweight and see what he is really made of and stop running his fucking mouth.

Antonio Tarver is the Terrell Owens of boxing! He never takes responsibility for his shortcomings and expects too much for his achievements!

I just thought it was funny that before he fought Hopkins he was calling himself the legend killer. I thought that would make you a legend. Yet other then him beating Jones he has never beaten a legendary fighter.
I guess the real weight on his shoulders is the fact he has been openly exposed rather then just what was suspected. And he thought it was the 40 pounds
