I didn't get to the K-9 fight @ the Emerald Queen casino this weekend.
(couldn't find a sitter for the 4 kids for overnight)
Saw the fight on TV. LOTS of boos afterthe decision! what did you think?

K-9 won on a split decision. Crowd was booing like crazy.
Why the booing? A dodgy decision or was it just a bad fight?Originally Posted by landmine950
It was back and forth.
But Chris Smith pressed the action most of the fight.
K-9 tried to keep distance and keep the fight on the outside.
He was hurt a number of times!
Swollen under both eyes and cut on his right eyebrow.
It was score 94-96,96-94
then the clincher for K-9
97-93
I only saw the first 3 rounds and it looked like K-9 won those easy...Originally Posted by landmine950

Yea K9 definetly deserved the win imo, I didn't really understand the boo's.. Smith had two huge rounds where he did hurt K9 in the 6th and then 10th and final round... Maybe the crowd were easily swayed by the fact that Smith almost had him out of there in the last round?? Other then that K9 definetly won at least 6 or 7 rounds and boxed pretty well early on.
It was an early foty candidate and it could have gone either way. I want to see a rematch![]()
I dont know about a FOY canidate but it wasnt bad. I thought Bundrage won. Smith had him hurt twice though. Another minute in the 12 th and Bundrage woulda been Ko'd
It was a definite win for K9, Smith hurt him with his power and clearly won on the inside, so K9 opted to keep his distance in the latter half of the fight.
I think the crowd booed because they didn't like K9's evasive tactics but to be fair if he hadn't hadve fought that way and would have attempted to fight a more crowd pleasing fight he would have got knocked out plain and simple.
I thought he did ok.
He got booed because it was a Walter Wright crowd. He got booed entering the ring too. K9 won the fight. It wasn't an exciting fight. Bundrage only threw 2 punches at a time, and stayed away from Smith for most of the fight. They did trade a few times, and Bundrage was just about out of it at the end but it wasn't a terribly exciting fight. I would say the Wright fight was the most exciting.
I think he needs to tone down his muslce structure, he has too much of it especially his arms... If he can tone them down he can pick up some speed.
His defense needs some serious work cause fighting going backwards isn't always gonna work out he'll run into someone who will catch him as hes stepping back.
I think his defense needs working on too, the sticking his arms out and letting punches go around it will only work on shorter opponents but he doesnt want to end up like Rahman so his defense needs work,
