Morrison Tests NEGATIVE For HIV

I wouldn't climb in the ring with him. Even if I were a legitimate threat, which I am not.

You can't unring a bell. He has HIV even if he doesn't.

I would insist on several tests before allowing him back in the ring.

He took four in the last two months with all being negative.

I thought that he had been retested several times since then and they all had come back negative. I know for years he has claimed to not have the virus or anything.

I admit, This is one of the reasons I changed my screen name. It just seem he was becoming mentally ill because of the HIV. I'm still a little suspicious, But he took three HIV test in Dec 06 and one while being monitored by the athletics commission that came back negative. I just hope him the best.

I thought the same thing, imagine all the lost income Morrision could claim.

One thing though, isn't it partly Morrision's fault if he never had a follow-up test back when he was originally diagnosed?
Everything I've ever read about HIV testing states that false-positive do happen plenty of times, so if you test positive, you have get tested again right away to make sure the first one was right.
I mean, if I ever tested positive, I think I'd have about 10 follow-up tests before I accepted the fact I was positive.

Yeah, didnt he ever think a second test might be good for something so significant? Something doesnt make sense. So he only was tested once in the past 10 years? Hmm...


That did screw him over. He and Don King were in HUGE negotiations to fight Tyson and stuff once Tyson got out of Jail. I think the contract was rumored to be worth about $45 million (for 3-4 fights, cant remember exactly). I heard the check was all but cashed and then he failed his HIV test.



I find it hard to believe that he wasnt tested a lot. If he didnt have HIV wouldnt it have been known by now? Maybe this is a false-negative test. Something fishy about this!

I guess he figured it was true and he got depressed and got into a lot of trouble but then somehow straighten up.

I think we all need to temper the enthusiasm a little regarding Morrison's potential return. This is a guy who was never a legit champ, and had a draw versus Ross Purrity, during his physical prime when he was also taking performace-enhancing drugs.
Now at age 37, after a decade of inactivity, he's supposed to magically return, without the aid of steroids, and compete in a heavyweight division dominated by 250+ pound fighters?

The HW division has never been weaker... talent is thin,, most of today’s HW are green . they don't know what a combination punch is, much less throw one.. I see Morrison at 37 being a viable threat . I have heard that he has stayed active in the gym through the last few years. we shall see? even if he is rusty it wont show up that much against the back drop of todays HW's . Just my opinion
