Hatton better get serious and start taking some meaningful fights (not with guys who won their title in a fight they should have lost = Urango). You as his fans should be the ones feeling cheated.
I think thats a fair point but who does he have to fight to get credit for Tszyu not being a one off? Castillo is next and he has already stated he wants Floyd or Cotto at Welter.

If Collazo beats Mosely, that is a fight I can also see happening cos it will be worth a lot more to them both.

Maussa, Collazo and Urango are all World Champions - possibly the easiest options but so were Gatti and Baldomir.

Lets not forget Tzsyu had just waltzed through Mitchell and devestatingly so...

Before that Hatton stopped Oliveria (never been stopped) and won a wide UD over Ben Tackie who was in all the Light Welter top 10 lists

His career didn't begin at Tzsyu, its just some of the oppo's that Warren matched up weren't exactly inspiring!!

I like Hatton in the ring and hope to see him in some meaningful fights. He can't continue to mention all these top names and fight Joe Shmoe for a paper title.
Totally agree with you. I would like to have seen him in with Floyd before now or even stayed at Welter and fought Cotto who has won the WBA Belt he vacated.

Ricky says he would move back up to fight Cotto then why not stay at Welter and fight Cotto who was coming up. Never a better chance to beat him than on his first fight at the weight (as Hatton nearly found out himself). Cotto will now have a chance to grow into the weight before they meet/if they ever meet

If Calzaghe can do it than you can bet Hatton will follow suit.

That's true about the Cotto weight thing. I'm already picking Cotto to win that but that should make it easier.

I don't get why people are so harsh on hatton for?

He beat kostya, ok one big name... he was then going to fight vivian Harris next except he got his ass handed to him by a total unknown calos maussa, is that hattons fault? how can it be... i bet most of you who question his opposition would of no quarms had he fought harris... but harris got beat so hatton did the next best thing and then BATTERD the guy who beat the guy.

He was then given the chance to fight the WBA WW champion on short notice, become a 2 weight champion, have some leverage should he decided to stay at WW... he done that, granted it wasn't his best performance, and he just scrapped a win, but every boxer is allowed one bad fight, right? Lets not forget, Hatton v Gatti was almost certain to happon untill gatti went and got him self stopped to a guy whos then only interest was Floyd mayweather...

Hatton's moved back down to fight for his old belt and set up a match with Castillo. Thats just the way it works, you honestly think ricky decides this shit? its HBO and his promos who sort this out. HBO know well and truly money ways its better to have them fight on the same card, get one or both of them a world title then make them fight...

what should hatton have done? given collazo a rematch, it would of answerd alot of questions, ture. But what then? had hatton beatean him people would still claim the only big name on his resume was kostya and he was past it, so he would still have to fight some ABC champ at LW to get a title to make a big match with the likes of castillo or corales...

As for hatton staying at WW to fight cotto, if he stayed at WW to fight he had to give, urkal or vacate his belt? i don't think either fighter would enter that fight without a belt on the line,

    Why?

    Because they're both British?!!!!!!!!!

They're not even in the same stable anymore

Say what you really feel, you know, without stereotyping or generalising

Agree with all that mate well said

Only exception being the Cotto fight. Urkal would have accepted step-aside money like he has done for the last 50 fights!

I understand your points but if you think a fighter can't force his promoters hand, just look at Jermain Taylor. You really think Dibella wanted him to take all those tough fighs in a row? I know he didn't but JT was on a mission to prove he's not a fluke and he's a fight fans fighter. Believe me, if they really wanna fight someone, they can fight them.

I don't expect anything from Ricky except a roller coaster of a fight.
He gets, he does the hitting, it's excitement all round.
Whatever you say about the guy he is always entertaining.
I'm looking forward to seeing him fight in Las Vegas, he is an entertainer who comes to fight, not to backpedal.
From the limited material I've seen of Urango, he is going to be troublesome because he is powerful and he is a southpaw and that caused Hatton problems against Collazo. Urango is not as slick as Collazo, he is more in your face which will suit Hatton.
However, Hatton has a chin of iron, he throws a lot of leather and he hits hard at light welter and he does not slow down all fight long.
Whatever happens it's going to be exciting and it's quite possible that Ricky will come out of the fight with another belt and still undefeated.
