I don't trust any of these domestic abuse cases. A lot of them are due to discrimination. They always arrest the man even if the woman hit first. If the woman hit first, she deserves to get her ass kicked and thrown in jail. I've seen a lot of abusive women in my lifetime.

Jim Lampley Arrested for Domestic Abuse
Posted Jan 3rd 2007 11:25PM by TMZ Staff
    Filed under: Celebrity Justice, TV

TMZ has learned that veteran sportscaster Jim Lampley was arrested this evening outside of San Diego, CA on felony charges of domestic abuse.

Police tell TMZ that Lampley, probably best known for his work on HBO boxing, posted his $35,000 bail and is awaiting his release from the Vista Jail in San Diego. He faces one felony count of domestic abuse / corporal injury, as well as two misdemeanor counts of violating a restraining order and preventing a witness from testifying.

Sources say that because of previous complaints, Lampley was arrested by an investigative team at his girlfriend's home in Encinitas, CA.

Lampley was once married to anchorwoman Bree Walker.
Yeah give him the hook and bring Foreman back.

Innocent before proven guilty. Lampley should at least keep his job until this whole thing gets resolved.

If he's found guilty he should get the axe. Remember, this isn't Lampley's first run-in. He also got arrested for problems with his taxes (I want to say evasion, but I'm not sure). Even if you're not convicted, eventually too many problems in your personal life can be damaging to your on-air persona and Lampley is just about in the red.
    Oops

He had better get on the speaking ciruit, then. Maybe he could talk about "abusive behavior" (alleged).

I wouldn't care if he killed his wife, He is still the best blow by blow comentator in boxing, and I need him to call my fights.

There has not been a "blow by blow" announcer in Boxing since the great Don Dunphy...IMO

Lampley should take a leave of his job for a while....let Kellerman step in for a while....then bring Jimbo back to take old Larry's place!

Latest from the web: "Part of the appeal of sports is that, in contrast to the broader world's many ambiguities, the mores in sports can seem pretty cut and dried. But there isn't a consensus on how sports figures should be treated when they're accused of crimes.

HBO will use Jim Lampley on its boxing Saturday, the announcer's first HBO appearance since being arrested Jan. 3 on suspicion of domestic violence and violating a restraining order. That order barred him from being within 100 yards of Candice Sanders, 29, who accused Lampley, 57, of shoving her on New Year's Eve. The two were once romantically linked. Lampley, who's had a record 13 Olympic TV assignments, is yet to be formally charged.

Tuesday, HBO had no comment. Howard Bragman, Lampley's publicist, said Lampley is "looking forward" to the appearance: "That's what he does. He doesn't fight; he covers fights."

It's surprising, given the alleged conduct, that HBO parent Time Warner will allow Lampley to continue as a visible corporate face. The innocent-until-proven-guilty maxim is part of the American psyche, but it's hard to imagine Time Warner opening itself up to criticism by standing by Lampley if he's found guilty. Because such criticism would be well-deserved."
