I feel for you mate. You may feel despondent at the minute but try to turn this around and see it as an opportunity to seek out a fresh challenge. You havent been sacked, you havent been involved in gross misconduct. Your references should be intact. Use the time now to decide what you really want to do and then go for it.

All joking aside, you should be able to find something fairly quickly remember when one door closes the next door opens.... I know the tensions gotta be high especially if your financial obligations are high, but again if you were working a skilled position you will always be sought after.
