TYSON was probably the biggest puncher of all time at distance inside especially the realy short punches

Holmes was 38 years old and inactive when he fought Tyson. I wouldn't use the fact that he was KO'd as the main evidence of Tyson's punching power.
However, Tyson does have to be up there. I think I'd put Foreman #1, but you could make an argument for Tyson.

I'd put Tyson over Foreman in 94 when he fought Moorer tyson would have ko'd Moorer in round 1 shame Tyson and Moorer never met

Foreman was 45 years old when he fought Moorer.
The 25 year old Foreman would've KO'd Moorer in one round.

A fighter never loses his punch bottom line is Tyson is probably the most devastating puncher ever

    top 3 hard hitters
    1.foreman
    2.shavers
    3.tyson

feel free 2 replace tyson w/marciano if u disagree

hey, marciano was the original hard hitter
ive read that as well that tyson was scared of old george foreman but i dont beleive it,no way tyson was scared of a 45 year old ponderous man, look what moorer did to foreman ,tyson would have done a lot worse...............but prime for prime might be a different story, man that would be a war for about 3 or 4 rounds and some one would get killed

The Kinetic (moving)energy of an object is determined as 1/2 Mass X velocity X velocity.
So the speed of a moving mass (a boxing glove and arm) greatly effects the amount of kinetic energy that the head must absorb
The damage (KO) is due to the quick acceleration of the skull, and the resultant concussion between the now moving skull and the still motionless brain.
    Tyson had fast punches..no doubt.
BUT theres more to it, the force BEHIND the fist that still pushes the punch forward as it imparts energy to the head.
Technique is a big part as well, utilising the whole body in the delivery,
strong weightlifters can't throw footballs or baseballs very far.
Maybe the word "HARD" is the issue here

adjective: very strong or vigorous (Example: "A hard left to the chin")
adjective: dried out (Example: "Hard dry rolls left over from the day before")
adjective: unfortunate or hard to bear (Example: "Had hard luck")
adjective: not yielding to pressure or easily penetrated (Example: "Hard as rock")
adjective: metaphorically hard (Example: "A hard fate")
    adjective: of speech sounds
adjective: having a high alcoholic content (Example: "Hard liquor")
adjective: having undergone fermentation (Example: "Hard cider")
adjective: not easy; requiring great physical or mental effort to accomplish or comprehend or endure (Example: "Why is it so hard for you to keep a secret?")
adjective: characterized by toilsome effort to the point of exhaustion; especially physical effort (Example: "Hard labor")
adverb: with effort or force or vigor (Example: "The team played hard")
adverb: to the full extent possible; all the way (Example: "Hard alee")
adverb: slowly and with difficulty (Example: "Prejudices die hard")
adverb: causing great damage or hardship (Example: "Industries hit hard by the depression")
adverb: with firmness (Example: "Held hard to the railing")
adverb: earnestly or intently (Example: "Thought hard about it")
adverb: with pain or distress or bitterness (Example: "He took the rejection very hard")
adverb: very near or close in space or time (Example: "It stands hard by the railroad tracks")
adverb: into a solid condition (Example: "Concrete that sets hard within a few hours")
    adverb: indulging excessively

Seems to me Both Tyson and Foreman...though very different in the methodology, realised the same result!

CAN A CASE BE MADE? yes.

Hmmm in comic book history, I think Superman should be the hardest puncher, closely followed by the incredible Hulk.

In boxing, I would rate Foreman as being very heavy handed. IMO, Tyson's power comes from his hips, shoulders and arms working in tandem which accounts for his speed and power. But on arm swing alone, I have Big George leading the pack, closely followed by Ernie Shavers.

No way, Thor would be the strongest because he is an actual God. Hulk is second because the madder he gets, the stronger he gets. Superman is third.

Didn't you ever play Top Trumps

I don't think him, Foreman, or Shavers are the hardest punchers ever. Alot of guys have said that Lewis punched harder than Tyson. I think Ibeabuchi would punch harder, and maybe even Tua. It's hard to say because the gloves are getting bigger.

SUperman also has a stress factor that increases his strength or he can jump into the sun and get super charged. Also Thor and Hulk have the same strength, but Hulk has the superior lifting feats.
