yeah its definatly overhyped but that wont stop me from buying it ...just to see if ODLH can whoop the pretty boy,but i dont think, acually i KNOW that oscar CANT pull this off....hes just not the same golden boy i loved watching through the 90's.........but i can still hope

True, but he KOd Gatti and Vargas because he broke them down with one landed punch after another.
The left hook he landed on Vargas was right out of a textbook, but it only knocked him down because DLH had broken him down over the course of 10+ rounds.
Which is really my point, that DLH is a true boxer-puncher, not a pure puncher. He has to box first to set up the punching later. Against Floyd he almost may have to skip step 1, and I don't think that will work.

Which is what I've been saying. Oscar & Floyd are both accumulative punchers...but they do have power. I agree that neither is a blasting knockout puncher...but people saying that they don't have power is just so...out there to me.

    Anywho...who are ya pickin?

I'm still undecided on this. I want Floyd to take it...but I still say that the weight & Oscar's jab is going to be a huge factor.

oscar has trouble with fast boxers, and he old now. i think floyd will tattoo oscar from round 4-10 and cut up dlh's face. you heard it first here . oscar will quit on his stool about rd 11 from humilation.

.....Oscar has been stopped ONE TIME and that was by a MIDDLEWEIGHT!

Floyd will break his hands before he hurts Oscar.

Welcome to the forum. Have the Obligatory Wacko Welcome

That being said...you gotta be shittin me?!?!? Surely you don't believe what you just posted?

Oscar has been stopped only once & has taken some serious punches from some much harder hitters than Floyd. No way that Oscar quits on his stool...Oscar's got as much heart as Floyd has skills. He won't sit it out on his stool.

No cuts either. Floyd's brittle hands in those puncher's gloves is quite possibley one of the biggest "NO NO's" of the fight.

Again...welcome to the joint...but no way that statement holds water. Sorry. I know that sounds ruff...but I have been a supporter & follower of both men since I was a younger chap...& none of that sounds remotely close to possible.

I think the weight is only a factor if Floyd lets it be a factor. What I mean by that is.....

A lot of times when fighters move up in weight class, they make the mistake of thinking that means they HAVE to put on the extra weight, which they don't. A lot of times the extra weight will take their speed away. Mosley is a good example of this.

I think Floyd should weigh-in somewhere around 147-149 for this fight. If he's going to win, he needs to do it with speed and defense, so he should weigh whatever allows him to do that the best.

Does anyone remember what Floyd weighed when fought Baldomir? I know the fight was at 147, but I'm asking what he weighed unofficially on the night of the fight. That's what he should weigh against DLH.

[quote=SweetPea ]Yep...& Oscar in the Sturm fight. Totally chunky & slow. I think that Floyd's way too smart to do something such as this & judging from his body at the pressers...he'll be 120%.

I'm not sure & I could break out the disc & see...but it's REALLY late here...I shall do so in the morn though if I can remember. Honestly, if memory serves my drunk ass @ the moment, I really think that he came in at either 146 or 148...it was 1 pound north or south of 147...which is about the difference of what Floyd & camp said that he would weigh max against Oscar..a couple of pounds under the catch.

    We shall see.

i may be going overboard saying dlh will quit on his stool. i still think floyd will tattoo oscar all night. it's going to be like dlh vs. pernell . maywheather is just to fast. but he will stay in the pocket and make oscar miss over and over. no floyd will not hurt dlh . but i think he will make oscar look slow. thanks for the welcome

Everyone's entitled to an opinion...but it's just a tuff sell picturing Oscar leaving it all in his corner.

Know what I mean? I'm kinda leaning toward Floyd's speed making Oscar look a bit slow also. Hard to believe...but that's gotta be the most obvious choice of the match up.

Not at all, how can it be overhyped?
It's the P4P fighter vs. A guy whos fought everyone & anyone.....

They are the BIG names of the sport....

Look at the name of the fight itself, that should tell you all.....

When ODLH fights the WORLD watches....

Mosley is a Garbage fighter?? Are you a glue sniffer??.....Mosley may not be what he used to that is for sure but to say he is garbage tells me one of three things....

    1. You do not know that much about the sport

    2. You are biased and do not know how to seperate your feelings as a fan or detractor of a fighter from that as a fan of the sprot in general....EG- I can't stand Floyd Mayweather and think he has avoided certin opponents but he does have the skills of a great fighter

    3. You were once president of a local chapter of the Shane Mosley fan club and were snubbed while requesting a pair of his used trunks after a fight. Then shortly after given a restraining order....

If it #3 I understand the hard feelings....I saw a movie with my kids once called the Incredibles and the same thing happened to Incredi Boy...soooo.......

Try to get over it and PLEASE do not attempt to become a super villian
