i wouldnt go as far as a great chin mind you....his style of boxing prevented him from being hit but when he did get clean punched he melted,,,plus look at when he fought men his own size ie klitko,,,,he didnt look that good....poor chin id say

That clip of Lewis taking a few whacks was posted not long ago. Iron chin is stretching things a bit. He didnt just get dropped, he got sparked out, that doesnt happen to fighters with great chins.

When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

If Lewis had been more willing to stand and trade and have a war i dare say we would have seen his true power, maybe he knew his chin wasnt the best so that prevented him from mixing it more than he wanted to.

his chin was not that bad he got caught by monster shots that would have stopped most, it was his powers of recovery that left a lot to be desired.

his power was not overrated at all it is his over cautious approach that makes people question him

Agreed 100%...Lennox preferred to box but when he wantwed the power he had it without question. If you ever look back on his career Lennox was always a boxer but he had a mean streak in him...EG-Rahman 2 after Hasim talked BS,,Tyson,,I could name others but those are prime examples....Lennox hurt both fighters and IMO could have ended both earlier if he so chose

LL didn't seem to have truly explosive power, more of a consistent pop to his punches. I'm not saying he couldn't put some stank on it when he wanted, but he usually relied more on accumulated damage than one big shot.

There are obvious exceptions, of course

Lewis was a massive puncher and he did have great boxing ablity. But he did not. I repeat did not have an iron chin.
He only got floored twice have you watched it on youtube
He got floored twice and couldn't continue. Not to mention the fact that he has also been stunned on several occasions (Briggs, Klitschko). Fighters with iron chins don't ask "what happened" after they get floored and couldn't get back up (see: Rahman-Lewis 1).

Lennox Lewis early on had the mindset set on destroying his opponent. Excellent power,

Steward in my opinion took away from Lennox's true potential.. He could have been one of the most exciting heavyweights ever . JMO. The safety first fighting style he employed was boring as all hell !

Lewis had excellent power , when he pressed no question

Spot on bilbo Lewis had a patient boxing style so he didnt throw KO punches every shot like a slugger , Lewis fought alot of his fights in the top ten so 32 ko is good return for your power for me

jackson was down 3 times holyfield is tough as nails hard to ko him ask big riddick and mercer again he is tough as nails and has iron chin hard to ko him again ask morrison and tyson ?? tried to stay up as long as he could but he got koed so i dont really know how anyone can say his power is overrated

didnt razor ruddock go 12 rounds with tyson ?? how many rounds did it take lewis to stop him ?? 2
but ruddock said the beatings he took from tyson made him a shot fighter.
Clearly, the beating Ruddock took from Lewis made him say dumb things like that

Yeah but whenever ANY fighter fought Tyson they were never the same again and if they worked hard enough to beat him he did enough damage to them that they still never performed the same way ever again

Holyfield didn't look too damaged when he was beatin' the sh!t out of Michael Moorer.
