some say mayweather will be considered greater?
Your sentences are a little choppy here, so I'm sure exactly what you're saying.
But I think the argument people are making here is that Mayweather is a more classically trained boxer than Jones. Jones was a great fighter, but his style was more unorthodox and improvisational. He wasn't really based as much on the fundamentals. He hardly ever jabbed, he didn't block a ton of punches with his gloves. He didn't role with punches or use his shoulder to block punches. And he didn't need to, he was so athletically gifted that he could get away with things that other fighters can't.
Mayweather is also very talented, but he's also tremendously well-schooled. He is very "textbook" in many aspects of his fighting style.

'He who dares to be great'

Mayweather has been a professional boxer for over a decade and in the last 10 years history will show a lot of big names from Lightweight to Middleweight, how many of them appear on Floyd's resume?

Zab Judah came close but Oscar De La Hoya will be the 1st truly big name opponent for Floyd so lets just see how that pans out

No way. Jones never got a gift decision in his career and never needed one. PBF already has gotten one. Jones was much more dominant than Floyd.
i think he got a hell of a gift decision against tarver int he first fight. tarver was robbed and roy just tried to steal the round by punching in the last 30 seconds of every round. roy's face told a much different story to the score cards. however it wasn't a prime roy in the ring and a prime roy jones jr would hammer tarver.
I think maybe you got the two mixed up It was Tarver who tried to steal rounds by flurrying the last 30 seconds.. I don't even know what fight you watched. Jones deserved exactly the decision he got, ppl just thought it was even closer than it was because that's the best anyone had done against RJ.
Mayorga hater, you are 100% correct man. Roy Jones clearly won the first fight, no doubt. People and haters just wanted Roy to lose so badly, that once someone finally did SOMETHING against Roy, they automatically said Roy lost, when in fact he did not. He outgutted Tarver, outpointed him, and won the damn fight.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
