Who has had any success doing that? I've never seen it happen....if anything people figured out that if you throw straight shots you can get to him a bit.

I don't see any increase of offense from his fights versus Mosley and Tito fights then I do the Soliman and Taylor.
    Are you serious?

I gotta again...totally disagree. Prior to Mosley everyone that watched Wright cried over his styled. Afterwards...he stood toe to toe with both Mosley, Quartey, & Taylor & continued to throw the duration.

He played peek-a-boo all night long against Tito.

    He stayed hidden against Soliman.
I didn't think that one through when I worded it like that. It came out the complete opposite of what I meant.

What I meant is that I don't buy into the insinuation that Wright has compromised his defense for the sake of offense. If that makes sense, I have it in my head just can't get it into words. But I'm agreeing with that second post without agreeing with your post.

OK I think that he did alter his offensive style to cater to those who didn't like it before (which I never understood) without compromising his defense. I've only ever seen him hit on any semi regular basis against Taylor. And most of those were deflected punches that very rarely landed clean.

I see what you are tring to say...& I aint trying to sound like a Wright expert or anything like that...but rewind all the way back & watch him against Mosley in both of those fights & you will see what I am saying.

Wright's a smart fighter. He reverted back to his winning style against Tito & everyone pissed & moaned about him even though he totally humiliated Trinidad.

Even though he won...he didn't "fight it out"...he didn't "toe to toe or go to war" so to speak & was critiqued on it.

    Total horse shit!

I've never seen him go toe to toe though except when he got cocky against Wright. JT landed against him but they still never went "toe to toe" with him. It was an exciting fight but it's a fight I've seen Winky fight in the past against McKart twice, Candelo and Frazier. Where he pressed the fight with his jab. It just so happened that JT had the ability to fight through his defense while those guys couldn't. And none of those guys were as active as Soliman was so they didn't make for exciting fights.

I know I'm contradicting post after post but Wright is my favorite fighter out there and I honestly don't think he has ever compromised his defense to make a fight exciting. Except against Mosley and Birmingham had his ass after that
