What im trying to say is what type do you prefer


Brawler= Castillo Rocky Benn ect

Defensive= Herol Graham Willie Pep Winky ect

Speed= Sugar Ray Leonard Meldrick Taylor ect


I can't think at moment if i have missed any let me know and ill add them to the poll.

Combination of speed and defense.
There are different kinds of defensive fighters. For example, Hopkins and Wright are both great defensive fighters, but I wouldn't call them speed fighters. Hopkins shows great defense by slowing down the pace and giving opponents different looks. Winky's defense is based on forming a wall with his arms and blocking tons of punches. I respect these guys but I don't find their styles to be that exciting.

I prefer the fast defensive fighters, like Pep/Whitaker/Mayweather.

I do not have a specific favourite type of fighter. I love watching Mayweather because of his beautiful fusion of speed and defence,then there is Pernell with his incredible reflexes etc. However I am also a fan of fighters,guys who come to KO you,Tito,offensive whirlwinds like Margarito etc.

I don't limit myself to one style. Boxing means different things to different people,it's not just the art of hitting and not being hit but it also has some gladitorial aspect,2 men fighting with honour,with dignity,showing their strength,physical and mental etc

The perfect example is Pernell v Chavez,what a wonderful display but on the other hand you have a fight like Corrales Castillo 1. Both are wonderful in their own ways.

Guzman is another example of speedy slickster . Jones etc , Its kinda an arrogant, hands down , reflex defence. Classy cominations and good footwork . Thats the style I admire .

well said smashup.its easier to pick a fighter that defines a style rather than pick the style itself.i would go for calzaghe,for his heart mostly.usually i would go for a frazier style.

You have to adapt to be great they were 2 of the greatest offensive and defensive fighters ever

Defence-Mayweather (defies logic imo)
Speed-Leonard (even in the 15th round he'd use insanely fast flurries)
Brawl-Dempsey (middleweight by todays standards and 9 times out of 10 went straight through the much bigger opponent with absolutely no fear)

I'll add another type of fighter that I like, and that's fighter who throw a lot of jabs.
I'd rather watch a guy who throws tons of jabs than a guy who throws bombs. That's one reason I never really loved watching Roy, because he would leap in with hooks, he didn't jab much.
I always don't like that Mayweather seems to be throwing a few less jabs than he used to. He used to throw a great left jab to the body.

Love watching the old Tommy Hearns fights, he had that long left jab.
