    Default Don Imus Loses Job

I just wanted to vent. I'm not a fan of his show , in fact Ive only seen it once. But I'm disgusted with the fake emotions and outcries against this guy. He made a mistake when he said something stupid and apologized. Either way he has the right to free speech, or at least he should have. He even went on Al Sharptons show and made a public apology. To me that is more than enough. These women couldn't possibly be that offended and deeply hurt by an old white mans comments on a show that seldom young people watch. Yet the are on Oprah saying how scarred they are. The whole situation is bullsh@t and CBS MSNBC and all of the companies that pulled there ads on his show prior to his firing should hang their heads in shame. Its OK for rappers to degrade women and call them hoes every other word and flood the airwaves, but a white guy says it once apologizes and he loses everything he has worked for in his life and his livelihood. Again, I'm just venting so i apologize if Ive offended anyone. Especially any "nappy headed hoes" But seriously, this p@ssed me off a lot and in 2007 this shouldn't happen, it should be resolved without people losing their careers.

.....holy crap one guy on MSNBC just said "The 'h' word"........HO has been taken over by black people.....it's a racist word now.

Did you ever know that Right Reverend Al Sharpton has never appologized about Tawana Brawley....here's a link explaining that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tawana_Brawley

But Sharpton asked for Imus' appology for some stupid bullshit like this.

I'm tired of this posturing and grandstanding.....I have the right to my opinion and I will fight people tooth and nail to keep it!

Yeah they are all double standards. Sharpton has slandered people who where being accused of awful crimes who are 100% innocent and not appologize but he still has credibility? People like him are builining a racial divide not breaking it down. He was on tv saying he doesnt want to take Imus the man down, but yet Imus apologizes during a meeting with him and Sharpton calls for CBS to fire his. It sickens me. Those Rutgers girls are being pressures to react with outrage but they werent hurt by Imuss comments and scarred by thim. The media has not done civil rights any justice....and BESTp4p ill be Oprahs new Stedman anyday if it will get me in her checking account..not so much her bed though

Lyle. You hit this one down perfectly. Imus has been talking trash about almost every ethnic on the globe for years. Albeit distasteful, it's part of his spiel.
Sharpton and Jackson are both shake-down artists with little or no credibility. Don't know what happened to Jackson along the way. I would have thought that he would have learned quite a bit from the late Dr. King.
The proverbial shit really didn't hit the fan until Obama was forced into making a public statement. The respective 'news' agencies took notice as the possible 44th President of the U.S. finally made a statement.
Although Imus made an outlandish and insensitive statement, it's par for the course in his business. He's said much worse about people of Asian, Mexican and Euro decent in the past. This country is going to shit in a handbag at light-speed velocity. It's almost as if we have entered a new era of Orwellian thought police dictating etiquette to a radio talk show jockey - fukin laughable and a bit scary to say the least.

Tawana brawley is gonna have to take a back seat to this phase of the argument when you hear what some guy named (not sure if its spoelled right) Kamu Kambone said. He basically said that (again not his exact words but it was on national television so i'm sure i'll find a clip of it) White people are responsible for the hard times on the blacks and the only way this world can be fixed is to (and i quote) "exterminate white people". Nothing ever happened to this guy that i know of. Now what i'm hoping for is that Al and Jesse get up infront of a huge audience and say "Oh he was just kidding. He didn't mean it like that"

So saying "nappy headed hos" is a race crime and calling for the genocide of a specific race is ok
The last guy who said that a specific ethnic group was responsible for their hard times kinda did something about it. Some Adolph Hitler guy over in germany he killed like 8million people but he probably didn't mean it in a bad way.

we are losing our freedom's everyday.. Freedom of speech is just one of them, the man Imus wants to talk , hell he have the right to do so, if someone don't want to listen , simply turn the channel. political correctness is shit. I think what he said was in poor taste, but I have heard worse , just turn on some rap music and see if I’m wrong .. I feel that if your going to censorship. censorship everyone, not just old white folks with a loose tongue. !

Exactly. Imus was an Easy target and these scumbags were just waiting for him to say something like that. He had his show for nearly 30 years and CBS never suspended him before for other similar things he has said but since the media wants to steer people away from the more important issues in the world they they go along for the ride. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do not represent the majority of black people and this country needs to realize that. They have slandered more people than most of those that they go after. They should go after EVERYONE that uses racist and sexist words to hurt someone(and I dont think Imuss were either really) and not select people. Hip Hop is the biggest music industry in the country and it makes me sick to hear my little sisters singing along to some of this sh@t but I guess irrisponsible rappers are ok because reverend Al hasnt spoke up against them. This shouldnt have even made the news, Imus should stil be working, and Al would still be sitting in his recliner thinking of ways to get 2% of the presiential votes intead of a mere 1.

Also not to add more on the Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson HATE TRAIN

    BUT

Anyone remember what those guys said about the Duke Lacrosse Players? They were a national championship team, they were called RAPISTS and yet, an erie silence breaks across the lips of Sharpton and Jackson when questioned about that issue since the charges have since been dropped

....not to mention Don Imus was more liberal than republican and yet it was the people who supported him before his comments that ended up being the end of him.

While the REPUBLICANS clamor on about FREE SPEECH.....odd ain't it?
