I just read that he lost his fight. WTF he was a good fighter.

He is a good fighter but Mijares is a poised fighter, who punches straight, has good timing and good accuracy. Have yet to see the fight but it's not really surprising that he lost imo.
I don't really follow under 130 so I'll take your word for it, I know he lost to Carbajal way back when.
He fought some Japanese guy on the undercard of Valero's last bout (or maybe it was the main event but I downloaded it for Valero)
And he really did a number on him. Only bit I'd ever seen of him. Mick called it when the fight was signed.
It was hard to watch... I gave arce more rounds then the commentators but you knew overall he was getting a number done on him.. Mijares wasnt supposed to be much of a power puncher..But he was sharp snappy and snapping jorge's head back most of the night..Arce however didnt look very strong and tired out early.. I wonder if he is the same fighter at this weight.. and the speed differential was a big factor in the fight too..
Fair play to mijares..He put on a show and defended his title even as an underdog..
But sad to see arce loose
Peace
Immortal Technique
mijares dominated arce, great performace by mijares. It was clear by the second round arce was going to get dominated by the champion. arce just got expose!
mijares reminds me of my fave eric el terrible morales but a southpaw. mijares made a lot of fans last night. arce just lost tons.
Vic will have a long hard look at this fight and should steer clear of Mijares, he would lose!Originally Posted by Julius Rain
yup mijares is a bad man, vic would end up like arce too.Originally Posted by THE THIRD MAN
A salute to Mijares. He was technically beating a bloody Arce.Originally Posted by Tito_BHB
arce said before the fight there was a good chance he would lose the fight. hats off to arce for not taking the easy fighter route. arce is still entertaining to watch.
arce is fuckin crazy. thats why i like him.
While I hated watching Arce lose...I still loved the fight.
Mijar won me over on that one performance alone.
That fwocker can box & he had Arce dialed in all night & honestly...that's a tuffy because Arce is a bit awkward.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
Arce was beating Michael all the way....Originally Posted by Taeth
When Michael caught him with the punch Arce went towards the ropes and was hurt. The ref. waived it off. He did loose and he was younger and less experienced.
Yeah! I remember when the fight was 1st signed I didn't get a good feeling about it. From what I had seen Mijares showed skill and moved around much but he also traded if he had too. Here are the quotes from that thread where I suggested Mijares would win El Gamo asks me about Mijares and I reply..... Heres the link also.Originally Posted by amat

I've only seen highlights of a few of his fights and I've only seen his first match with Kawashima in it's entirety.....Originally Posted by El Gamo
Hes a boxer who likes to use the entire ring you rarely see him in one place, BUT if he has to he will satbd there and trade....
To be honest I don't got a good feeling about this match up for Arce....
Heres one of my quotes from last week....

I would definitely use the word "exposed." I gave Arce 2 rounds the whole fight.
As a side note (this is my first time on since last night's fights) I think Brian Viloria is now officially a stepping-stone fighter.
Viloria is not getting any better. One more defeat in a world title will confirm your claim shza.Originally Posted by shza
