How do you rate Mijares?

What I saw was a slick boxer. Not strong but slick. What amazed me was how little everyone knew about him. Is he really that good or did his opponent (Arce) make him look better than he actually is. What say you?

Arce may well have made him look better than he is, however Mijares is a slick boxer with excellant skills who is going to give trouble to anyone with a similar agressive style such as Jorge Arce.
Would love to see him fight Vic because i think he has the smarts to work out Vic's unusual style and find an answer to it. Very impressed with Mijares!

Agree with you 100% bro Darchynyan and Mijares will do both fighters good. Vic will silence a lot of the haters out there if he gives Mijares a thorough beating and Mijares will prove to all doubters that he is the real thing if he continues his winning ways

well in that particular fight with arce and him i will rate his performance 8/10 just because he displayed poise of a true champion and tremendous all around boxing skills in the face of a tested and a veteran warrior. I don't really know mijares until this fight though so i can't really say if arce just made him look good because styles makes fight as we all know. But basing from that fight it's a solid 8/10. it could have been perfect if he dropped arce a couple of rounds even if it didn't end as a TKO. I can understand arce is a tough tough guy and has a heart of a lion, but hey with that amount of blows he[arce] got; if it was anyone with good power he should have dropped him somewhere in the rounds where damages are piling up already. So that clearly shows mijares isn't powerful enough and somewhere down the road if he meets a guy with a good technical boxing skill and power. He will be in deep trouble. "Another theory in my mind" though, because arce is renown to have an endurance of a horse, mijares "could be" playing conservative and making sure he has enough gas to out maneuver arce until the very last round knowing that he has the boxing skill to do it against him[arce]. either way, those are the things i think that's holding me back from giving away a 9 or a perfect score of 10 to mijares.

IMO he's very slick, technically sound & southpaw to boot.

Thing is everyone is talking him up now cause of the Arce victory, but he fought to a draw with Luis Maldonaldo just before Maldonado was taken to bits by Darchinyan!!! I know that doesn't mean much but it's very interesting.

I mean, how could a guy who is slow, telegraphs his punches and fights in a altogether "weird" manner win against a slick boxer. However, if he does, he acn jump up and down and shout to the world that he is the real deal. If Mijares wins on the other hand, he will get wider acclaim and probably make a lot of money in a future fight. Unfortunately, the most exciting fighters in his division was Arce and Darchinyan. hmmmm

Agree to an extent on what you said mate, i think vic would struggle with him, the only problem 4 mijares is vics power and i think alot of fighters would struggle to keep up with vics power and workrate, over 12 rounds.

I rated Mijares highly PRIOR to the Arce fight.
I actually predicted that Mijares would beat Arce. When it happened I wasn't surprised I mean Mijares is like the 'Caballero' of the Super Flys.
Caballero referring to Celestino whos freakishly body size will give anyone problems.....
