I'm not even going to count the ways in which that's the dumbest question I've ever heard.
True but what has that to do with his boxing skills and accomplishments ?
He never ducked anybody and stood for his convictions even if that ment going to jail and being pennyless.
They robbed him oand us of a mighty fine 3 years of artistry
And what do you mean by biggot ? You sound a awful lot like Joe Frazier.

they weren't around til the 80's to my knowledge and if he did juice for the berbick and holmes fight, they didn't work too well for him. Besides i dont think steroids help that much in boxing anyways you can get as strong as you want but it wont give you a better punching technique or chin.Originally Posted by JT Rock
i still think ali was the greatest heavy 2 ever pick up the gloves
he dominated the golden era of boxing and beat the biggest names. he was the quickest heavy with the best footwork.
I know u feel larry holmes was the best HW and i would never argue with any1 for putting holmes as the greatest hw....he was 2 good for his time and nobody beat him. i think he could have beaten many of the greats except ali. ali would be able to win by a sd--he was faster and would land more combos. he would find someway 2get past larrys jab. i'll never put down holmes-
2 me holmes cant be greatest, because thats ali spot
cc-4 saying what u believe
yes ali was overrated and so was foreman.

right back at you.
He was overrated in some ways. Not all ways. He had an overabundance of heart, stamina and reiliancy. He was very entertaining. It's hard to call any boxer the greatest, because we all know each boxer could lose in any given fight. His character was cartoonish and larger than life.

I think he overlooked alot of guys, and we all know how much in love with himself he was, therefore he didn't care. After the long layoff, and then losing to Joe, and, his mobility not what it was in the 60s. For him to come back and KO Foreman, and beat Joe twice, makes a very loud statement. Not many boxers have been in that type of scenario. But, Tyson couldn't do it, and he's ranked top ten heavies of all time.
Allthough, I might not choose him as #1, I can say that I wouldn't bet money against the man.
