in this months FHM hatton once again expresses how much he would love to fight mayweather. he has done this time and time again mate. if for whatever reason this fight never happens it will be because floyd is being a greedy bastard and demanding to much or if he retires after de la hoya.Originally Posted by p4pking

There's always a possibility with these World Class boxers but it would be extremely difficult. CC Dude

I truly think the Rick that beat Kostya has a VERY GOOD chance of beating Floyd but his form has dropped a bit since then. As much as I love the guy I just don't agree with his lifestyle anymore as it appears to be affecting his performance in the ring. He said he was going to keep his weight down for the Castillo fight but was already 12 stone on the J Ross show a month or so back.
So with Ricks recent form I would say PBF wins about 8-9 rounds to an UD at 147.......In Ricks best form (which I sadly think is gone forever) it would be a different fight altogether.
I would disagree with you that Castillo as a better arsenal/stamina/chin than Ricky. I would agree that Floyd is a better fighter now than when he fought Castillo. There is nobody 154 and under, other than Shane or Oscar who has a CHANCE to beat Floyd. I used to think Ricky could hang with Floyd and push him, but the more I watch and rewatch both fighters, I have seen the error of my ways. I love Hatton and I like him to beat Castillo, but Floyd outpoints him pretty easily.Originally Posted by p4pking
I was really meaning more, that when Castillo fought Mayweather, he had better stamina and the ability to absorb shots than Hatton does NOW.. I guess their arsenal is about on par. But basically I'm not sure Hatton or Castillo either have a good hard 12 round fight left in them..Originally Posted by SeanE
it really hard for me to suss out where Hatton really stands right now. I thought he looked great, almost dominating, against Mausa. Then struggled against a larger, better than expected, Collazo. He followed that up with a lackluster, but smart, fight against Urango. So who is Ricky Hatton right now? I'm not really sure. Part of me thinks that his lifestyle and weight fluctuations have made him get old before his time. There is a realistic possibility that we have seen the best Ricky Hatton that we will ever see. It's possible that he peaked on the night he beat Tzsyu and we will never see that version of Ricky again.Originally Posted by p4pking
Or maybe he is just fine and the 2005 Version of Hatton is still there. His performances might have been the result of being in against a much bigger guy (Collazo) and fighting a smart, workman-like fight against Urango. I know this much. If he can't beat Castillo, 2007, he either done or over-rated. This should be the second BIG name on his resume. He doesn't need need to KO him. He just needs to beat him clearly (not necessarily easily).
Either way, he ain't gonna beat Mayweather
I can guarantee you'll see 12 rounds of action from the hitman. Honestly, you people can keep talking, the Hitman will silence all the critics again like he did 2 years ago. It's in fashion to talk shit about Hatton.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

Im a huge hatton fan, but floyd is pure class. Hatton leaves his chin exposed too much and mayweather wud take advantage of this. Hatton will be collazo tho!
I love to watch Hatton fight, but he's not in the same league as Floyd. Anyone who bets on Hatton, call me, I'll be happy to take you're money.
No he can't.

I honestly do just think Hatton has looked bad because he has fought 2 southpaws. One was bigger than him and the other one was bigger than Ronnie Coleman. I've seen Hatton fight southpaws before and struggle and the last two fights have been no different....it's just that those are the only 2 fights he has had since the start of 2006. I also feel not fighting in England has a little bit to do with it. Nothing to do with referee's / judges etc, i just mean the atmosphere and the hostility. The atmosphere gave Hatton a huge boost while intimidating his opponent at the same time.
And that's why Hatton stil has a chance against Mayweather.....if he can get him in the UK.
