Its not neccessarily the names but the results. He won but he didn't do it in any better fashion than someone before him so how dose that make him so great? If he was great then...

He should have whooped Baldo so bad the ref stopped it.
    He should have stopped Judah.
He should have stopped Mitchell quicker than Kostya or at least Williams.
He should have stopped a worn out Gatti quicker than Oscar did 6 years ago.
He should have stopped Bruseles quicker than Zavala did.
He should of stopped Corely quicker than Cotto did.

He's won but he has done nothing to his opponents at Welterweight that someone hasn't done better.
So he should of stopped Mitchell quicker than how quick Kostya done it ?? one of hardest hitting p4p fighters of last 10 years ??

And im sick of he should have done this and that it doesn't matter he still won easy you don't have to risk going for ko if you can shut your opponent out like Mayweather has skill to do.

OK I am going to regret saying this but....( and not because ICB said it but because it is an agreement about Floyd Mayweather lol)...But ICB is right.....and especially we are talking about Sharmba Mitchell....Not a P4P fighter but a guy who is a well schooled Vet of the game...Like ICB says you can't compare a KO stoppage by Tszyu to someone else....Kostya was a friken bad man when it came to power..it is what made him a legend....Floyd has a lot going for him but I never heard him referred to as a KO puncher....Samr for DLH VS Gatti....Oscar was disposing of all his opp at the time he fought Gatti...Corley actually IMO is no suprise that Floyd did not KO him...Cotto is the only man to ever stop him Corley is a tough tough guy...mascara and all....

I take into consideration what other people have done to his opponents. Floyd has done nothing defining since leaving 135. He may take his game to another level against Oscar but from what I have seen of him at 140 and 147 he has bitten off more than he can chew at 154.

'Well done' you have basically come up with a list of fighters who are naturally bigger or hit much harder than Mayweather. He only left 135 just over a year and a half ago and in that time he has a win over Judah and now there is the fight with De La Hoya. It's unfair to expect fighters to have a career defining fight every year because there aint enough fighters out there that are good enough to define someone's career.

In my opinion Floyd hasn't fought not a single 1 of the top 5 Welterweights at the moment, but he is going to retire after this fight because he says there is nothing left for him to prove!!

At least make an attempt to prove to the Fans that you are the best Welterweight of your era before running off with your Golden Boy retirement cheque claiming to be the greatest ever. What a pussy.

Even though I say these things I' am 100% sure Floyd will not retire. Especially after watching 24/7. Floyd couldn't walk away from the sport if his life depended on it and he sure as shite isn't grown up enough to run a promotional company.

Your absolutely right I really wouldn't have expected him to knock Mitchell out any quicker than Kostya because frankly I don't think he could have beat KT at 140. I'll retract the Kostya part of the comment if you like so you don't miss the point.

I agree with your assessment of his competition. Not much to be impressed about there at all.

I do believe, however, that he might retire as he's said. Throughout his career he has never shown any stomach for risk. For years he was content to just sit around with his little piece of the title and complain about his lack of respect. Eventually, as the other's took the challenges that he wouldn't, they lost one by one, and suddenly he's promoted to #1 p4p by just hanging around and waiting. If he manages to beat Oscar he will finally have that big name on his resume and, I believe that as far as he's concerned, that's all he needs. Also, he is obsessed with his place in history, why take a chance on messing that up?

I think that if he does choose to fight again, it will be back to business as usual, fighting nobody to risky. He'll just try to milk out his new found success before he finally leaves for good. Of course, he'd be full of excuses about why this fight or that one didn't happen, but the main thing is, they probably wont.

The bottom line is that fighters who are determined to fight big fights and put themselves out there find ways to do it, at least occasionally. It took him 10 years, but now he's finally got one. We'll have to see what he can do with it.

He could maybe 1 day be talked about in the same way as SRL or SRR but i doubt even his biggest fans like the way he acts outside the ring.
I think the majority of people will want Oscar to win , i mean I'm not Oscar's biggest fan by any means but hes a good role model for the sport and i want him to knock Floyd out mainly because i wanna see wot he has to say after .
So guys tell me your views?
and give me your prediction, mine is

    Oscar KO 9

Who are the top name opponents Floyd has fought?

No matter what you say...Floyd has a quality resume.
Now take a look at the other Welters resumes(excluding Mosley)and you wont find anything other than C+ and D fighters on theirs.

Add Mosely to the mix too. Besides his first win against Oscar(the second fight Oscar won), who else has he beat that is so much better than Floyd's opponents. Winky? Forrest? He lost those fights.

im a big floyd mayweather fan. i think his trash talking is funny. people get all "butt-hurt" when he does it to someone like Oscar who is such a fan fav but that is the main reason people are gettin all flustered about it now. mayweather has always talked shit. when u are the best out there, it is hard not to voice it and be proud of it.

    Mayweather W12 (UD) 117-111.*

*This is what the fight should legitimately be scored as. No matter what happens though, even if Oscar goes down 25 times in the fight, I think one judge will have it for him if it goes the distance, which i would bet hands down it will.
