Default IMPRESSED WITH FLOYDS PERFORMANCE, DISGUSTED WITH JIM WATT!!!!

theres no question about it, floyd won the fight easily, he made oscar look slow and like an amatuer at time. watch the fight closely floyds defensive skills were awesome! from the outside floyd was scoring with his jab, he'd throw the left hook occasionally but mostly it was blocked, then when oscar rushes floyd, just as i expected, floyd gets into the philly shell and uses it superbly, hardly getting hit flush.

i dont understand these commentators tho, how could anyone give oscar de la hoya the 8th round!!!! it wasnt just the 8th. the reason why jim watt gave oscar that round was cos he was the one pressuring forward, being the aggressor...but he was doing FUCK ALL, THATS ALL HE DID, COME FORWARD AND GOT MADE TO LOOK LIKE A SLOW AMATUER!!!

i learnt alot from this fight in terms of defense from floyd. the onli person that realised that this wasnt a close fight was johnny nelson! them flurries oscar threw did fuck all, floyds defense was perfect like i said b4! floyd was the one that rockd oscar, he was landing the betta shots and while odlh was plodding forward like a poor mans miguel cotto, he was getting picked apart!

i dont know how the hbo ppl had the fight scored but i know the floyd team did not agree with it cos they were saying somat like "they giving him credit for coing forward" even mayweather was shocked at that answer. we need to get educated ppl into boxing doing commentating, im sick of all these guys who know fuck all!

the worse bit was, odlh knew he lost the fight but he cudnt admit it to merchant in the interview.....what a loser.
btw im not a hater or nuthugger, im jus tired tired tired of this shit. close fight my arse!

Sorry mate, but I'm inclined to disagree. I didn't think Floyd was active enough early on, except for the first round, and Floyd's own jabs were often caught on the gloves by De La Hoya. In the last three or four rounds Oscar did tire, and Mayweather then looked much better. At the end of the day, it was Mayweather's unwillingness to throw early on that made it a tight fight. You can't win rounds when you're not throwing enough punches.

You seem to be judging it on the last few rounds, and De La Hoya had a handy lead at the halfway mark.

I had Floyd winning by two rounds, but I agree with you about Jim Watt. So clearly biased towards De La Hoya! He kept saying that Floyd wasn't landing a lot of his punches, and then when Oscar threw flurries along the ropes that clearly either missed or were blocked, he would rave about Oscar's 'great work'. I think he was getting caught up in the reactions from the crowd to be honest, who cheered everytime Oscar even blinked.
I'm going to watch the fight again later with the sound off I think, I reckon my scorecard could change.
Credit to both men though. Oscar put up a great effort with his aggression and cut off the ring very well, while Floyd... well what can you say? He is just that damn good!
His debut at 154lbs, in a smaller ring, less protection for his hands against a man who was as physically imposing and skilled as Oscar and he still gets the win. Love him or hate him, he is the best right now. No doubt in my mind!

i think i gave about 1 round as draw, most of the others were floyds.
im surprised there was hardly anyone cheering when floyd jr would throw a combo. but o well, it was a good fight imo. i learnt alot from this fight for my own experience!

i would have rather have paid 25 quid and got betta commentators!

Mayweather performed as I expected him too but I tell you what did impress me......His chin. I didnt think PBF would have been capable of taking such big hits from a bigger man. Very impressed with that.

I wasn't impressed with either....Floyd fought scared and DLH fought like he was looking for one punch....If DLH did not abandon the jab the fight was all his...Then again "IF" I opted to take that job in Huston TX 10 years ago I wouldn't have to see my F'IN in-laws on a regular basis soooooooo.....

IF I'd never worked with a freelance boxing reporter in my first job I'd probably still be just a casual fan, rather than a big boing fan. Heck, I wouldn't be here IF.

Why did Mayweathers Dad give it to de la hoya,

De La Hoya hurt Mayweather, Mayweather only hurt de la hoya once, one flush rigth hand near the end.

i dont think there were many clear punches from either fighters, mayweathers punches glanced off de la hoyas gloves or else you would see black eyes. I think his speed fooled you into thinking he was landing

It also fooled the two judges

Don't want to sit on the fence but I scored it 115 even!

The fight really was about what you like in your boxing.

This fight is going down in the Leaonard-Hagler hall of never-ending discussion!
