Im am getting very excited about this main even!!! (I'll probably hang out after and watch the Taylor fight too! )
I'll be at the press conference tomorrow. I'll keep you posted if anything good happens (maybe pics too).

    MIRANDA KO 1-3
TAYLOR TKO (or whoever is left will be jumping ship!)

I favour Pantera and obviously JT but with Talyor,it'll answer alot of questions about his offence if he cannot put a dent in Spinks who was KTFO by Zab at WW?! The first half of the fight will be important for Corey because if he can do well, then JT may get tired although Spinks stamina is suspect too? I like Spinks,I've seen some his fights recently, hes a dam fine boxer.

Miranda throws looping punches he dosent double up his right hand. He is good on the inside but that is a big gap to close to a guy that is 6'3". Not only is Pavlik tall but he is the harder puncher of the two. He is the hardest hitting guy in the class. Both chins will be checked on the 19th. I dont know who is going to win this one but my heart wants the better human being to win. That is why my ass will be parked Firestone Park Blvd to watch this one. I hoping for Pavlik T.K.O in the 8th or later.

I'm picking Miranda by KO and Taylor by decision.
Great card! Glad Sky are showing this one.

I like Miranda by a hard fought back and forth crowd pleasing KO somewhere between rounds 6-9.

Taylor by late (T)KO. Spinks is going to run for as long as he can, but when he finally slows down Taylor will finally pop him and get him out of there. I Taylor ends up fighting backwards again he will have to do some serious thinking about how he is fighting. Spinks didnt have any power at 147 so he sure as crap isnt going to have any at 160.

I like Taylor by TKO as well. I will say this, if Taylor can't TKO Spinks (who was TKO'd by Zab at 147), then there are serious questions about Jermain's offensive game.

Taylor needs to come out, establish his jab, and back Spinks up. If he spends the whole night backing up and winging power shots (like he did against Ouma) then I will be very disappointed.

Nothing makes me angrier than a fighter with a great jab who refuses to use it, and that's what Taylor did in his last fight. He needs to make a statement in this fight, and it all starts with an authoritative jab.
Spinks isn't gonna make Taylor take backwards steps.

Spinks is an 'at a distance' fighter, just like Jermain Taylor. His style plays right into Jermain's game. If Jermain doesn't win this fight then there are questions. He should though. Spinks style was made for him to pick apart.

Leon Spinks is in Coreys corner...

Cory Spinks, the IBF Light Middle Champ turned WBC, WBO MIddleweight Challenger, worked out for the media Wednesday afternoon at the Prize Fight Gym in Southaven, MS - and showcased his speed and slickness that one can count on seeing in the ring May 19, at the FedExForum when he faces undisputed Middle Champ Jermain Taylor in Memphis, TN.

Spinks shook things out for several rounds before trainer Kevin Cunningham climbed in the ring with the pads. After a putting on a clinic on both the pads and speed bag, Spinks jumped rope then paused to speak with the media.

"I'm anxious to get up there, you know? Real pumped up man. I'm read to do my thing. I'm ready to put on a show for the fans and make history come Saturday night," said a smiling Spinks who seemed more confident than prior media events.

"I know I'm ready. I KNOW I'm ready. There is no doubt in my mind. I know I'm ready," said Spinks.

Spinks responded to the question about whether this was a fight inwhich he had nothing to lose but everything to gain, "I'm going in this fight like I have everything to lose because this is the biggest fight of my career and I am going in it that way. I've trained very hard, very, very hard. I'm prepared for anything. There's one thing not knowing if you're guessing yourself - I know I'm ready. Ya'll are going to see a beautiful show come Saturday night."

When asked whether the pressure for success in this fight was higher for him or for Jermain Taylor, since Taylor could lose his title, Spinks firmly stated, "OH, He's going to lose his title! There an no doubt about it. I am here to win and that's what I – I don't plan on leaving Memphis without his title."

Spinks gave his take on how things will go down Saturday night. "Cory Spinks' way! We are going to dominate the fight. Doing what I do. I'm going to Shock the world come Saturday night. This is my time. I went through and ordeal, its over with, I got that spark back in me. So, there ain't no stopping me."

Spinks stated that moving up in weight to fight the naturally larger Taylor wasn't difficult. "We spar with bigger guys all the time. I can spar with people way beyond 160 and hold my own. So, I'm not worried about him being bigger, I'm just going to go in there and do what Cory Spinks has got to do." Spinks mentioned on the flip-side that Taylor, who is fighting his second newcomer to the middleweight division, picked the wrong one this time. "I'm telling you that now. I'm totally different from the fighters that he has faced. Its not going to be easy for him, I'm telling you that right now. I come to win and I plan on winning."

Having his father, former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks in his corner will "is a blessing," said Spinks, who also said the reason that the time was right for Leon to join his corner was that this was his biggest fight. "Its just an extra boost. Its more problems for Jermain. Having that guy in my corner is a blessing. I'm looking forward to him being in the corner. Its the first time and I can't wait. Everything is so right. Its so set up for me. So, its my time to shine," said Spinks.

Spinks stated that there was nothing about fighting Jermain that concerned him. " We are friends but its just like a game of basketball. Friends like to compete on the court. Its the same thing. We like to compete in the ring. Its a sport and this is what we do so we can't help it. Hopefully there won't be no love lost between us. We're just going to go in there and do our thing."

"St. Louis is going to be empty Saturday night. Its going to surprise a lot of people and Little Rock is closer but there's going to be more from St. Louis here than Little Rock," said Spinks.

I really like Cory, and will be rooting hard in this fight, call me crazy and thats fine. But the kid has a ton of talent, is slick, fast and can create all kinds of problems. He has the ability to keep Taylor off balance and score at the same time he makes good desicions in the ring and that will help him against the naturally bigger man.. Taylor has 2 many flaws at this stage and hasnt improved at all he is set to get exposed.

But to keep someone so big and strong like Taylor off you,you need to have a deterrent. You need to have power. And that is something Corey lacks.Totally! Heck Winky couldnt keep JT off and I'd say he is far more powerful than Corey. If Corey wins this,it will be based on skill alone. I'm sure his heart will be tested somewhere too, when Taylor lands./

And Bernard Hopkins was mumbling away about JT's technical flaws for their first and second fight but when a guy is that big and strong,it's hard to do anything about it.
