How good is Kelvin Davis, I've never seen him fight? Appreciate your opinions.

Good read CC!, He 's been calling out Tua for about two years now. He said he wants to be the best New Zealand fighter ever.

Kelvin Davis is a very exciting fighter. Here's a bit about him.

He is short and incredibly muscular. He fights very well on the inside and possesses power that is not to be messed around with. His biggest weapon on offense are his hooks, they are very short, very quick and again, very powerful. He fights off the ropes very well aswell. He can also fight through being hurt about as well as anybody. Terry Smith had him hurt for 3 full minutes of the first round in their bout and Davis came back in round 2 and returned the favor. Incredible heart, he is a bulldog.

While he is top notch on the inside, he is lacking an outside game. Most of the times to get inside he just walks straight forward, which is why a good jab and lateral movement has always worked well against him. He always has his feet squared up, even on the outside so he doesn't have the best footwork and since he is always at such a height disadvantage, he does not really throw anything from the outside. He usually operates out of a cage defense or sometimes the peek a boo, but he also switches to the Foreman style cross block quite often and most boxers are able to punch right over the top of it. It's not at all an effective defense for someone of his size and he usually falls out of that habit quickly. He doesn't have good stamina either. His best rounds are typically in the beginning and middle rounds.

Don't know anything about Cameron. Think I've seen him once but do not remember him. Looking at his record, this is a step up for him.

Thanks very much for the reports guys. Much appreciated. Cameron is a big guy about the same height and weight as Holyfield and he's got good power. Interesting match-up. Cheers.

    No problem.

Welcome to Saddoboxing.com have a Hope you enjoy your stay.

This matchup with Davis will tell a lot about how good Cameron is. I hope he fights in North America sometime so I can see him.
