This is tough, I'd have trouble making a list of 20 albums, let alone 10.
In no particular order.
1. Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots
2. Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill (I'm torn between this one and Live 101 Proof, but GSTK has my favorite Pantera songs on it and its just so fucking heavy)
3. Nirvana - In Utero
4. Mark Lanegan and Isobel Campbell - The Ballad of the Broken Seas
5. The Beatles - Rubber Soul
6. Tha Alkaholiks - Liquidadion
7. Bob Marley and the Wailers - Legend
8. Neil Young - Decade
9. Social Distortion - White Light, White Heat, White Trash
10. Alice in Chains - Unplugged
HM: Pink Floyd - Pulse, Mark Lanegan - Whisky for the Holy Ghost
I tried to only pick one album from each artist, otherwise I'd probably only have 3 or 4 bands listed.
CC, that's a badass list.Originally Posted by Unknowndonor

Yeah, like you, I had a bitch of a time narrowing it down to 10 albums, even with cheaping it up to 12 it was tough. Sepultura and Pantera (I saw one of their last shows. RIP Dime) were awsome, there's talk of a Sepultura reunion, but somehow I doubt it... You ever listen to Soulfly?Originally Posted by Unknowndonor
Yes. Soulfly is good. Ever heard of Nailbomb? Heavy, more like Sepultura. Max Cavalera(lead singer-Soulfly,Sepultura), and a guy from a band called Fudge Tunnel made an album(or cd) before Max created Soulfly. Igor(Max's little brother-drummer for Sepultura), does most of the drums on it. If you have heard it, cool, if not, check it out.Originally Posted by CFH
As for Pantera, (R.I.P. Dimebag), watched a Heart concert on VH1 about 6-8 months ago. They had alot of guest musician do songs with them. Phil Ansemlo came out with Alice in Chains, and sung Would. He's no Layne Staley, but it rocked.

Yeah, Nailbombs ok, its hit or miss for me, but I like some of it but some of its just weird, but cool... I never heard about Phil doing a song with Alice (RIP Layne), that would be awsome, though Phil's voice aint what it used to be... Do you have a link to it? Are you sure its not Maynard from Tool? My friend went down to Seattle to see a benefit show with Heart and a bunch of other Seattle bands, and Maynard came out with Alice in Chains and did like 4 or 5 Alice songs.Originally Posted by Unknowndonor
No, it was Phil. He only did the one song, then Alice in Chains did Rooster with their new singer. What amazed me is that Phil actually did good. Except for the chorus, and the last part of "Would", Cantrell sings, with Staley harmonizing, and Phil did this well. I figured he would over power Cantrell's softer voice, but he didn't. Then, he gave a shout to Dimebag and Layne-RIP, and left.Originally Posted by CFH
Don't have a link. Can't remember where it took place, but Dave Navvaro and others, helped do some Heart songs. Hell, even american Idol winner-Carrie Underwood came out and did "Alone" with Heart.

I can only name one at the moment.. My Nirvana MTV unplugged album.. I've just lost my 2nd copy so going to need to buy my 3rd very soon (hence can't live without).
I've got a $1800 headphone setup and that album just f'n kills on it... You can hear a guy fart 16 rows back in the audience through the things,,,, but the entire album is absolutely brilliant... I could listen to it a million times..
Hey CFH,,,, is that short for Cowboys from Hell?awesome taste bro ;-)

That's cool, I'm gonna try to find a copy of Phil with Alice in Chains.. fitting song for him to sing too.
Nirvana Unplugged is one of my all time favorite albums, it's such a sad and haunting, but great bookend to the music of Kurt Cobain - that album is the single best vocal performance I have ever heard, my uncle played it for me when I was like 13 or 14 and it changed my musical life. I would've put it on my list if I didn't have In Utero on there already. Nirvana is arguably my favorite band of all time.Originally Posted by Dizaster
Yeah, CFH is short for Cowboys From Hell, I love Pantera and I couldn't think of anything else to use, so CFH it was.
Edit: Phil and Alice in Chains doing Would? is on youtube... that's pretty fucking cool Unknowndonor, I had no idea they'd done that... CC in 24. Its funny, because when there was talk of Alice getting back together, me and my friend were talking about how Phil might fit in well with them.
