Um I disagree with both statements. Mayweather took the fight to Corley, Ndou, Brusseles post Castillo. I just think he knows not to fight inside with a good inside fighter. He fought Baldomir more on the inside than people give him credit for, and he allowed Oscar to have him on the ropes. If Mayweather had wanted to he could have made it look more like the second Castillo fight.

I'm sorry, but Baldomir also looked against Zab, and he couldn't win around against PBF. I think PBF wins for all the reasons Zab loses against these guys. He is way better off the ropes, he doesn't get sloppy defensively, and he maintains his sharpness. I saw Cotto had a lot of trouble with Zab's speed at times, but Zab couldn't maintain a consistant pace offensively. ALso this fight IMO proved that COtto isn't a huge one punch guy who could knock Mayweather. I see Oscar beating Cotto, and I still see Mayweather handing it to Cotto.

Can you please lead me to the person who thinks Cotto can beat PBF so I can back hand them.

Even I a Cotto die hard fan can tell you PBF beat him.

Was I rooting for Zab Judah? I don't remember saying that. I don't like Zab Judah, and actually like Cotto a lot more than him. I know whats good for the sport I love, and thats Judah getting beaten. A lot of people are saying that Cotto gives Mayweather a tough fight at the very least, but I am disagreeing. Maybe you have a lot more common sense than some people?

A few things:
1) Cotto vs Mayweather would be a very good fight BUT it would be like the one we saw on May 5th. We all know what Floyd will do, throw 1-2 combinations ( very seldom ) and use the right, right, right, right, right, right, right (one punch at a time). If Cotto walks through these, like I think he would, it's bye bye Mayweather because it's going to be like Castillo on CRACK!!! Cotto doesn't tire easily and he can hurt you to the body. Unfortunately, I don't think Mayweather will get KOed since he will RUN like never before once he's hurt.

2) Cotto vs De La Hoya...Prime De La Hoya beats Cotto in 3 rounds. The 34 year old DLH beats him in 8, are we forgetting Oscar does well against fighters that charge him? If that left hook lands ,and it will since Cotto's defense is average at best, it's BUENAS NOCHES senor Cotto. This would be a GREAT fight though. I still wouldn't count Cotto out since he WANTS to win every time. If Oscar uses his jab more than the Floyd fight he wins in less than 8 rounds.

Cotto is a decent fighter but he can't beat floyd 4 a few reasons:
1- He is too slow hand and footwise.
2-His defense is lacking. judah hit him whenever he threw. the only problem was he didn't throw enough.

floyd is too fast and boxes too well 4 cotto . I can see floyd potshotting him into frustration and maybe stoppin him late.

I don't know, correct me If I'm wrong. The last time I saw PBF fought DLH, the former was not really good. It was unfortunate for DLH not being able to knockdown PBF but I still think PBF is overrated..... JUst my honest opinion. I don't disagree that PBF is good but his win over DLH was not convincing..... again, in my opinion.

I wasn't impressed with Oscar or Floyd in their fight either. I noticed Floyd's eye was puffed up some. Not sure what he got hit with, because Oscar wasn't throwing much. Either was Floyd for that matter.

Floyd and Cotto both faced Sosa and Judah. Floyd went the distance and looked good, but Cotto took it up a notch (BAM! BAM! BAM!) and stopped both Sosa and Judah.

Floyd loses against Cotto. Cotto does well against these fighters who are "too fast". He comes to fight.

I'd rather see Cotto fight another fighter who comes to fight. Clottey, Margarito, Mosely. However, if Floyd decides to come out of retirement to fight Cotto (which I doubt will happen) I will shell out the cost of the PPV to see it.

It would be a UD for PBF, I can see a swollen Cotto face at the end of twelve frustrating rounds.

I have become a big fan of Cotto. Me being from PR and all, I just can't help but feed off of his energy and relentlessness in the ring.

I love the fact that Puerto Rico has another big name to cheer. But he does have a few problems that he can't help. He is small for a WW, he does not have the best defense and he does not take a punch that well.

These factors make me believe that he will have serious trouble with Margarito or Williams. Both of them tall, hard hitting welterweights. Williams in particular is a very active puncher which would be a serious problem for Cotto.

I don't think anybody can beat Floyd at this time. If anybody has a chance, it might...MIGHT be Mosley. But I'm not really sure he can do it eather.

The funny thing is, I think Cotto might be able to beat Mosley. He comes to fight and has good speed and power. But he is about the same size as Cotto and has always been more of a looping puncher. Cotto's relentless pressure and body attack would cause problems to anybody and if he keeps his hands up and his chin tucked like he does, he might neutralize Mosley's offense. Cotto also has a real good Jab (you saw how effective it was last Saturday) and this could give him a lot of trouble.

Like they say styles make fights so in the end I think....

Cotto can beat Mosley who can beat PBF who can beat Margo/Williams who can beat Cotto.

That was my point, not all fast fighters are the same. Zab may be fast like Floyd, but he also has a ton of flaws that Floyd doesn't have. Zab doesn't know how to use his speed.

Just because Cotto has done well against fast fighters doesn't mean he'll do well against Floyd. It's a whole different level of skill.

Both. Cotto cannot land on Floyd. Cotto reminds me of Hagler in that Hagler sort of would wear guys out just on the forward movement and sharp punching. But Ray Leonard had Hagler's number. I am not sure if Ray could outbox a Hagler of 1985, but he did beat the Hagler he fought in 1987.Yet Hagler had a better chin than Cotto. Cotto would be beaten up by Floyd over 12 rounds. I would be a mistake to think that beating Zab Judah is the same as beating Floyd Mayweather or comparable. Floyd already beat Zab easily and Baldomir beat Floyd. It was a great win for Cotto. Cotto now has to beat a few more guys and he is a big fighter. But Zab still is not near the skill level of a Floyd Mayweather.

Both.
Cotto will have problems with Floyd's speed because Floyd knows how to use his speed.

Zab has speed, but he doesn't use it to move and avoid punches. He stands flat-footed and he uses his hand speed to throw fast counter shots (which he landed on Cotto, when he threw them). But he doesn't use his foot speed, and that makes him easy to hit.

Cotto won't find Floyd easy to hit. I think he'll be chasing around a fighter he can't catch, and he'll get hit with a lot of shots while he's chasing. It'll be a frustrating 12 rounds for Cotto and Floyd will walk away with a decision victory.

Mayweather may very will beat Cotto but Cotto would provide the sternest test for PBF so far in his career. What are the chances of PBF agreeing to fight ethier Cotto or Hatton ?
