Why do you think thats it's very rare that two prime boxers get it on in the ring? Because they both want more than they are actuully worth, but you can go on and on with your pathetic British hate which is becoming quite laughable. So Lacy was an over the hill fighter was he? The bookies didnt seem to think so? But i guess your always spot on arnt you.

Here we go again. Call it whatever you want. It ain't British hate. But call it that if you want. Bottom line is this. Calzaghe has had what 42, 43 pro fights? In all those fights. And try and be honest. How many were against real live threats? Two. That's it. Jeff Lacy (he was overrated as hell but he was in his prime and considered a threat). and Robin Reid. He dominated Lacy but struggled against Reid (Calzaghe avoided a rematch with Reid like the plague). Other than that everybody else was either shot or a bum. His other best welled known opponents were Chris Eubank, Charles Brewer and Byron Mitchell. I never taught much of Eubank. Not only that but he was old and weight drained when he fought Calzaghe. Brewer was never a great fighter. He was decent in his prime. When Calzaghe fought him he had 8 losses. He had two recent losses to Sven Ottke and was almost murdered in a brutal knock out loss to Antwun Echols. As for Mitchell? Not only was he also coming off a lost to Ottke. But he was coming off life and death fights with Manny Siaca (Siaca was robbed in the rematch) and a washed up Julio Cesar Green. Mitchell was down 3 times in those 2 fights. And Calzaghe still struggled with him. So that makes 2 live threats in over 40 fights for Calzaghe. How can you, who claims to be a boxing fan, find that acceptable?

I agree with what u said. Also what is the point of fighting Tarver, he was exposed by Hopkins big time as a one trick pony.

So eagle who elso could Calzaghe of faced at SMW? because he's beaten everyone in the division for 10 years, its been a week division but thats not his fault. Ottke was a joke and would never face Joe, Calzaghe has made offers to BHOP and Taylor for fights which were rejected even though they were decent offers!

Ottke a joke? Why cos the division was weak while he was champ? He only fought bums? Stayed at home to defend because he got biased refs and judges? Hang on a minute am i describing Ottke or Calzaghe?
Get off joes nuts fanboy. Offers to Bhop and Taylor were always in Joes favour. Face it Joe never wanted the Kessler fight, it was all piss and wind.

It makes me laugh that joes fans call Ottke a joke cos he faced weak opposition but so has joe. Ottke's resume is nearly stronger!

yeh but ottke had many a gift decision, JC didnt he only ever come close to losing once. Taylor said he wanted 10 million that just stupid. BHOP agreed on the fight a few years ago only do suddenly double his demands. JC has agreed to fight kessler in his baxk yard were are being held up by politics. Can you not given him any credit for beng the fighter he is?

Oh...err...yeah! I always get those two mixed up.

Tys, I was reading in boxing news that Casamayor actually believes he's 38-0 and best fighter in the world. (That's pretty much a quote by the way). haha.

As for Calzaghe. He has beaten most Super-Middles in the world over the last 10 years, and while it's been a weak division, the smart thing to do is move to were the competition is. Step up in weight. He had an offer to fight Clinton Woods for £1m which he flat turned down. Warren should have come back with something better to promote that one himself. I want to believe in Joe, but it's hard to say that he's created a perfect legacy. Anything but a threat for the rest of his career would piss me off...and I'm a brit.

I knew Calzaghe's fanboys would buy into FW's bs on the Taylor offer as soon as its absurdity blew over. Recall: FW was demanding that the fight happen in WALES, and was offering Taylor as much as Taylor got to fight Kassim Ouma in his own backyard. Tell me how that's a reasonable offer or anything other than a transparent attempt to get something in place so that Calzaghe apologists like you could pipe up months later and say things like "what did you want Joe to do? He tried to fight everyone, but they ducked him!" Bullshit. It's the same thing they've done throughout Joe's career (Hopkins, Jones, etc.). If Joe/FW were serious about getting competitive fights, they would have made real, non-lowball offers. In any case, the point is that now there is a specific, competitive fight that's there to make against Kessler; they can make it happen if they choose to. We'll see if they do this time.

Here's another one to ponder: he had an actual date set with Glen Johnson (who I'd pick to beat Calzaghe). He "injured his hand." And then never rescheduled the fight. What's that about?
